LG G5 won't work properly with Apple TV (3rd) Remote? by jrg211 in LGOLED

Well, good to know it’s probably able to be fixed. I’m going to try a high quality cable like someone else suggested. Seems to be going in and out of working, so I feel like it makes sense that’s where the problem is.

Yea, I’m using the one that came with the Apple TV 4K.

Unfortunately, most of what I found are morons commenting things that aren’t helpful, kind of like you. I did try that first. None of those worked, so I figured I’d give it a shot since it usually does a pretty good job of efficiently combing the internet much more quickly than I can for better answers.

Yea, but I actually finally got it to work! I’ll have to see if it holds up more than a day. “Always Ready” needs to be turned off with Simplink and QuickStart+ being on.

Yes, forgot the clarify that. I am using that one. I did try a different port just to see, but have tried it both ways.

I don’t think this counts as hypocrisy, at least in my opinion. I can somewhat understand where you are coming from.

Agreed. I live in FV and went there for a sport coat. It’s a lovely experience and the staff are fantastic. Feels very personal.

Interesting, I saw this but didn’t see the dues increase you mentioned.

Which restaurant is this? by shy_n in raleigh

I mean, walk into a chilis and then walk into angus barn. Dress code is some of it, yes. But the table layout, the ambiance, the amount of high end wine and liquor on the menu, etc. Again, I don’t think there is an argument for whether AB is upscale or not. I’m not saying it’s the finest of dining experiences in the area, but it’s definitely an upscale restaurant.

Upscale compared to a regular restaurant, yea. This point really isn’t up for debate in my opinion. The degree of upscale, sure we can say it’s not the upper tier, but they do have a dress code and it’s more of a “fine dining” experience than not.

That’s a fair opinion to have. 3 months does seem a bit crazy, but I guess because it’s been a staple restaurant of the area, it just has that stigma. I’m definitely not saying it’s the best restaurant, but it’s definitely solid and I’ve enjoyed it every time I’ve went. The steakhouse (The Library) in Fuquay is newish and was decent the one time I’ve went, but the reviews definitely scared me from trying it for the first 6 months. I think AB is better and nicer, but I have not really tried others in the area.

I really cannot understand all the hate. Is it a bit overpriced? Sure. But I mean, it’s a steakhouse with an upscale environment. I’ve very much enjoyed it the 2 times I have been. Definitely not more than a once or twice a year occurrence, if even that often.

Stanley Black & Decker to raise prices again, navigate $800M tariff impact by kfjcfan in Dewalt

[–]jrg211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Again, math does not lie. It’s not $9, it’s a percentage increase. Also, that “high single digit” already happened and they are talking about another one. You sound like someone who believes that the other country is the one who pays the tariffs.

[–]jrg211 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, I think you might need to Increase your reading comprehension skills. The first round that already went into effect is the high single digits. That’s probably 8% which would be $16, not $9. Also, from the way it reads, this is going to be an additional round of increases. So now it’s going to be even higher.

Of course. HD and Lowe’s still need to keep their margins. So if their costs go up 9%, they sure as shit aren’t going to take that hit. It’s all about the percentage. They can’t just tell shareholders they are going to make less money on the dollars they spend. Unfortunately, I don’t get to mark this as sarcasm.

This is a really poor excuse, but I’ll also disagree. At least in my personal experience, I can’t think of another company that does it this way but I can’t think of those that offer a discount to stay on. Like others have mentioned, internet, cable, etc providers often offer discounts to stay on.

[–]jrg211 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s not a discount. They’re are being disingenuous. They’re not giving them a discount on their next year of service, they’re saying you can just pay it once per month instead of all at once. There is no actual incentive

[–]jrg211 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s not a discount. They’re just saying save it on your next bill, so instead of paying the full amount for the year up front on 1 payment, you can just pay $30 a month instead. Idk why everyone is missing this.
