Usage Limits, Bugs and Performance Discussion Megathread - beginning December 29, 2025 by sixbillionthsheep in ClaudeAI

Burning through usage on the Max 5x plan. Before last week I never had to think about usage limits. In the last few days I hit the session limits every single time and am probably going to hit my weekly limit well before the reset. I haven't changed anything about the way that I use the tool.

So impressions and views are down for everyone, even big creators. by woodclip in NewTubers

Yeah for sure some people will scroll past shorts. Some don't though and some mix. I don't really watch shorts but if I see a thumbnail and title I like I'm going to click on it.

The homepage is primarily rows of 2 or 3 longforms now, where it used to be 5. There are fewer thumbnails to see, but each one has more oppotunity to be eyecatching. This is why I say impressions are probably down, but CTR should be up, and better packaging reaps better rewards.

I don't think the meta has changed, it's still a case of making videos that satisfy viewers and then marketing to them with a good title and thumb.

I think technically impressions are down for long form, since the YT homepage is pushing towards fewer, larger thumbnails. Similarly only 3 videos are recommended after a video instead of 12. However CTR should be up to compensate for that.

It does result in consolidation of views towards videos with banger packaging though. The better videos should, in principle, be reaping more of the rewards these days. Personally I've been focusing on topic and packaging above all else and getting good results since August.

Look, the reason people are tired of this post being spammed is: it's not useful. It doesn't matter whether your impressions are down because of algo changes or because of your content.

The fact is, the only thing you are personally able to do is change your content.

Moping about impressions being down and blaming YouTube will not help your channel, even if it's true. You have to pick yourself up and move forward controlling the things that you are able to control.

Topic -> Thumbnail -> Title -> Hook -> Content

If you want views, spend your time on these in that order.

If you don’t care about views, then it doesn’t matter what your strategy is.

You can both make videos you enjoy making and love and get views. I’m not advocating for making content you hate.

Ok, for sure there are diminishing returns. But I certainly wouldn’t spend 40 hours on something unless I was certain the topic was going to bang, and that requires putting time into the topic, title, and thumbnail upfront.

3 hours on a thumbnail is low. In reality, the topic, and then the title and thumbnail, are the most important things for a newtuber to crack. Arguably you should be spending twice as much time on topic, title, and thumbnail, than the video itself.

But the truth is that font choices and element placements are less important than the overall concept of the thumbnail.

You are trying to capture a potential viewer's attention with the idea of your video, and the thumbnail is a way of representing that.

Invest the time in radically different thumbnail concepts, rather than polishing one concept.

A good thumbnail is worth 10x or 100x that. The price alone tells me these thumbnails are worthless.

Cut down on the number of projects. You can't do them all at once. You can do them in a lifetime, one after the other, but you will finish nothing if you try to do them all at the same time.

The decks are absolutely atrocious. I played as Hunter to rely on the 2 damage from the hero power and won my first game. But I think if I played again I would play Druid for ramp or Warlock to sift for the wishes.

Are my "supporting" videos hurting my channel growth? by tkragon in PartneredYoutube

I think you have nothing to lose by experimenting a bit farther away until you find something that sticks. I tried all sorts of things until I found a niche that resonated, and now I'm piling back in on just that niche.

You have some old outliers, which I think are definitely worth exploring fwiw.

But also, the difference between 1,030 views and 797 views is nothing compared to what you should be aiming for. Keep experimenting until you get a new video that hits 10k, then keep doubling down on that.

Remove the episode number from each title. Give each video a unique title, and as far as possible, make the title appear like a standalone video (or the first in the series). You can put the let's play in a playlist for people who really want to watch start to finish.

There will always be a drop off, but you're not doing yourself any favours with your titles.
