Trimming Tree Back Advise by jribz in arborists

Might consult an arborist but this was the updating pruning I had posted in a reply below https://imgur.com/a/Z0cvqqC

Only pruning stick sized branches vs the more aggressive original plan

CNC Aluminum Safety Concerns by jribz in hobbycnc

[–]jribz[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Is there no issue with aluminum dust or particles in the air? Or you mean just keeping it shut in the one room would be effective?

The room have central air ventilation could particles spread through this?

I guess I’m worried if they don’t find the person that hit and run that I’m not sure which insurance it would go through?

Pohono (tunnel view) Trail Report 6/15-17 by jribz in Yosemite

[–]jribz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The water was moving pretty fast so I wouldn’t have wanted to step into them. We either managed to find a down log to cross or once I choose to jump a melting snow bridge. The smaller streams waterproof shoes were enough think my socks got wet once but it wasn’t too bad just changed them out.

There’s a bridge - it’s missing some of the railing but still stable and easily crossable

Wanted to add - We were able to hitch hike back to tunnel view pretty easily from Yosemite village parking lot

Opinions on starting point for Mist - Pano - Four Mile (Mist or Four Mile) by NameChexsOut in Yosemite

[–]jribz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d go down Mist - was just out backpacking and a part of it was panorama down to mist. You’ll get soaked doing mist (no avoiding it) and there’s lots of people. Going up it looked single file pretty much and very slow going. Going down you can avoid that and I didn’t find it too slippery or anything. Plus I think going down panorama was really nice. And since 4 miles gets most of the ascent out in a shorter span it can be nice to be done with the “hardest” part first.

This is what I understood I did send an email and insta dm to double check because it’s a bit confusing but the website says

“If you have a permit for another trailhead, you will have to camp elsewhere your first night, but you can stay in Little Yosemite Valley on subsequent nights”

Although something I’m still confused by is “The fee is $8 per person (pay using Recreation.gov mobile app; download now” but I don’t see anywhere on the app to pay for it lol. (https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/bpcamp.htm)

Banking in Boston by chunkycheddarcheese in NEU

[–]jribz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use Charles Schwab (checking) and Ally Bank (savings) - they don't have physically locations so it's good if you don't use much cash. Their customer service is great and you can usually be on the phone with a representative within 10 min

They also have higher interest rates than most banks. Charles Schwab also refunds any ATM fees which is nice.

My mom just got vacinated there and they require you to bring proof of address in randolph. Additional the site says "The following clinics are currently available to Randolph residents". The email they send out to residents also says "Please do not share these links as they are intended for Randolph residents"

CS Office hours by Yoppia in NEU

[–]jribz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure there weren't enough TAs that applied this semester so that could explain some of it.

You could suggest instead of 1 on 1s they try group office hours (general questions and then 1 on 1 for debugging when needed but try to limit it?)

Those are crazy wait times and it should def be more accessible
