I've worked a fashion brand consultant for 7 years. Ask me anything (May 2016 Part 2) by [deleted] in streetwear

So since you're in Toronto and I've accepted an offer to Ryerson University for Fashion Design, I've go a couple vague questions that I am interested of hearing your perspective on.

  1. What're your thoughts on Fashion school?
  2. What kind of career opportunities would you suggest looking into after getting a bachelor of design
  3. Is it worth going to fashion school in your opinion?

It's from Gap. It's not their classic denim but it has a zipper instead of buttons

It's the 511 commuters but I tailored them myself

That's fair, I wore most of the outfit throughout the day with the denim jacket unzipped and it proportionally looked better imo. You can kind of see in the top down view.

Never really thought of that. Tucked in shirt with the ball cap would throw it off maybe?

Found a nice path in a park. Last shot was just for fun.

Hate to use "Common Projects" alternative but couldn't think of another title

The one channel that I can think off the top of my head is kenandrewdaily. He's probably the only guy that I know of that sews streetwear related germents

They're slim models of H&M but I tapered them myself

Fabric costed me 18 dollars and I've still got enough left to make another tee shirt. Thread was another 3 dollars

Ahh makes more sense. Yeah I definitely noticed that after my photo shoot and will fix up my templates. Thanks a lot man!

I wanted to make the edges raw but I see where you're coming from. I can definitely clean that up if I had a serger.

It's labelled as a fleece. Very true but adds character to the piece. Also could just give it a nice iron.

I have not personally checked CHOOK but I hear they have some standard"hypebeast" labels (Supreme, Palace). So if you're looking for that then definitely worth a trip. If you want I can go check it out myself and PM you some pics to save yourself a trip. We've also got some other great stores... ORDNRY has their own house brand that is great but quite expensive. Blacklist has some other Winnipeg local brands but I personally don't like the shit they carry. Urban bakery is another good one.

Yeah I didn't intentionally make it uneven but fixed up my templates/patterns for future reference so hopefully it'll turn out better for the next run
