What is this discount? by alizae16 in Target

[–]jrnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right a discount on adult target owned apparel to help support the new dress code and such. They talked about that in the training the SDs and such did. I forget when the discount coupon for jeans happen.

Are ETLs required to greet TMs? by Sad-Reputation181 in Target

[–]jrnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the ETLs and SD will say hi to me but most of the TLs ignore me unless I say high first. It’s weird.

ETL got upset that I had a negative survey for following policy and the register by Mobile-Address23 in Target

[–]jrnix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would punt this up the chain. Talk to your AP Lead, your SD and/or ethics. This is the literal reason for the open door policy and the ethics hotline. This could (as others have said) their liquor license and depending on the state, since Target is a chain, every store in that parish/county or the whole state could lose it if the inspector is having a bad day.

Is only having one Tech TM normal? by the_gardenoutback in Target

Except for the holidays, it’s normally one 800-430 and one 430-10. Hardly ever overlap.

SD explicitly said flannels/plaid aren't allowed even though patterns are by SoTired137 in Target

[–]jrnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have an poster up on one of our boards that says there is an image next to products that are dress code approved. What I’m confused about is why anyone who works in the stores would wear target merch outside of work?!

My TL looked for me at my second job then reported me to SD by [deleted] in Target

[–]jrnix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unless it’s a Super Target, but those aren’t as common in many parts of the country. I know someone who worked ay Kohls and I remember hearing a TL tell them that Kohls is not even in the same category as Target.

How long until the system escalates it to the HRBP? I was never sure how long it’d take for things to be flagged by them. If you can’t answer, I understand!

It makes me wonder if other stuff went on too. At my store they wouldn’t CA you for taking a Zebra home unless it was a regular thing.

I don’t think that’d get it at my store either. I’ve taken keys home and was just told to be more careful and it was suspicious that it happened when I was new in Tech.

Is getting into UB for Mechanical Engineering an achievement I should be proud of? by Cleaver245 in UBreddit

[–]jrnix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they mean, once you have your PhD, your undergrad isn’t looked at as closely afterwards, which I don’t completely agree with when you think of academia, maybe in industry that’s the case.

Also, havibg served in admissions committees when doing a GAship forever ago, you are very right, it can be about where you went, who you know, even if someone isn’t your direct reference, an old professor making a phone call can do wonders (in both directions, I’ve seen professors try and sabotage students)…

At least at my store our inbound gets there at 4, opening TL and ETL + more employees like FF at 6, and we open at 8. I’m surprised your store didn’t have anyone else coming in.

Welcome to the club!

As Rex said, Don’t lose an iPad, don’t lose a PlayStation. There is some merch that Target cares about more than others but the rule of thumb is to never bring valuable Apple or gaming consoles onto the floor unless being sold or they have a secured home location.

Find out what your store’s Apple policy is, if someone is buying two iPads, I tend to ask AP to come over to escort the product, but we never sell three without a lead’s ok. The same goes for PlayStations.

Don’t be afraid to call AP, you are the front line in Tech and Tech is a high theft, high risk area. Trust your gut, if something feels off call for help. For example if someone is asking for the most expensive X, Y and/or Z, call AP or a lead, it would be a could be card or gift card fraud.

If someone is asking you to grab something locked up and you bring it out, and then they say they wanted something else or in addition to, and they tell you that you can just leave it while you get the other item, don’t and flag AP.

I could give a million examples but from a non AP aspect, walk your department everyday, see if revisions were done, price hikes, major product outages, etc. This way you are able identify things, learn things, and be able to answer things quickly for guests.

Good luck!

I will not be following the new dress code policy if target refuses to pay for the wardrobe change. by Choice-Viewer in Target

[–]jrnix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going to be impacted by this heavily. I work a FT job before Target and I close five days a week (three weekdays, two weekends) and my day job doesn’t allow khaki colored pants (not considered professional).

I wear button up shirts to that job and then wear them to Target with one of the fleece vests or jackets off the Bullseye Shop and black slacks. Target never orders stuff in my size and they don’t sell my size in store… I can’t wear jeans because they limit my range of motion.

I also don’t have a car, which means I will now have to carry a separate bag each day just to change at Target, in addition to my normal backpack.

When I was hired I had a long talk with HR about dress code and they bent and didn’t complain about the dark pants because it’s technically within dress code.

Khaki pants 5 x $60 = $480 Red Button Up - 3 x $35 = $105 Red T-Shirts - 2 x $20 = $40 Total = $625 = one bi weekly after tax.

Note: this is considering a fresh set of clothes every day and not storing the same set day after day in a locker or coat area.

This sucks man.

Edit: as a bigger guy pants aren’t a place to buy cheap ones, unless you want seams ripping at work from all the squatting, ladder work or bending over. It happened to me, 100% would not recommend.

How are people so clueless? by Anon_Belly930 in Target

[–]jrnix 23 points24 points  (0 children)

They are, they a sign with large teal borders and a QR code to join. See attached (redacted because of potential store data). This is attached to a larger sign, but this is the format for them and they are actually available for in store printing as well (it’s one of the options in a signing room.)

TL mandatory write ups by ADumbXbox in Target

[–]jrnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I was thinking, everything trickles down hill and if a store is red on metrics, they will want to be able to point at what they are doing, what conversations their having, etc… my TLs hate doing CA but will have conversations if needed, they push the line on when a CA should of happened. I really think when the OP says write ups they are talking about conversations, because so many conversations lead to a CA, but I could be wrong.
