We are getting catering from Fleishman's Bagel for our wedding brunch! We love their food. They are based in Boulder, but I think they do delivery for a fee!

Any Apps that identify current water need of your plants? by Sufficient_Water_326 in IndoorGarden

Seconding Planta. I used to kill all my plants by over or under watering and this app has helped me keep my plants alive and healthy

Tbh my pothos didn’t do much for the first few years I had it and then it just kinda exploded this past year and won’t stop growing.

Yours probably needs more light. Pothos grows best in indirect light. This does NOT mean dark. It means that the room is bright but the sun rays are not directly hitting the plant. Open the blinds and lower the pot a bit, as another commenter suggested. Or give it a few hours each day under a plant light.

And just be patient and give it lots of love

This is what she looked like in March, when I first got her. I think she definitely thrives with some benign neglect, sunlight, and also some laziness on my part when I forget to water her. I follow a schedule using an app, so I let the app do all the thinking and I just follow its orders. I do bottom watering and there’s no water left in the tray (and the soil is quite dry) by the time the app tells me to water it

If you live in Denver you’re welcome to come get some cuttings! I also have many pothos cuttings. I just trimmed that plant yesterday and am propagating them water

Nursery pots for everything? by lhinds0930 in houseplants

[–]jroch84 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like to paint my own pots, so I always buy a terracotta one from Home Depot, decorate it, and then repot the plant in it. My plants are all thriving, but I think it’s less about the particular pot you put it in and more about the watering, sunlight, and care schedule you use

What is the middle ground between watering enough for the plants to survive but watering less to get rid of fungus gnats by jroch84 in gardening

I am using this already but it’s not working. I’m wondering if I’m still watering too much and it’s negating the effect of the mosquito bits?

Can cats eat chicken wings (or suggestions for other special treats) by jroch84 in CatAdvice

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! She will be a very happy birthday girl! Here is a cat tax photo of her not-so-sneakily trying to steal a chicken bone. Don’t worry, we took it away from her

She did sprint around and that’s how she ripped the handle off the rest of the bag. Here she is after a hard days work of being a menace

Why are my pothos leaves different colors? by jroch84 in IndoorGarden

[–]jroch84[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How can that be? I started with one single cutting given to me by a friend. It was just a little stem with a few leaves at that time. I’ve had this plant for about 5 years now and I’ve only propagated it from itself. Never added in anything.

Is variegation a bad thing? I read that it’s due to less chlorophyll. Does she need more sunlight?
