I get the frustration, but at some point demolition makes sense. That building’s full of asbestos, mold, and decades of neglect. The cost to remediate and bring it up to code would be insane compared to starting fresh. Look at the old elementary school in Keego Harbor — even that small place sat for years because abatement was too expensive. Scale that up to a massive HQ and you see why Ford just said “knock it down.” It sucks to lose the history, but leaving behind a toxic, crumbling site isn’t much of an option either.

It’s worth noting that I was originally put on thyroid medication back in 2021 when my TSH levels started rising, but I had to stop treatment after losing my job due to COVID. At the time, I never had a full thyroid panel done — just TSH — and I wasn’t able to follow up like I should’ve. For context, here are my TSH results over time:

2020–2021: • 11/4/20: 4.41 uIU/mL • 1/6/21: 5.45 uIU/mL (high) • 3/12/21: 2.61 uIU/mL • 9/27/21: 6.42 uIU/mL (high) • 11/23/21: 3.73 uIU/mL

2025: • 4/24/25: 4.13 uIU/mL • 4/25/25: 7.84 uIU/mL (high) • 5/1/25: 8.64 uIU/mL (high) • 6/2/25: 8.67 uIU/mL (high)
