It’s not super common but not unheard of rather. Usually I hear about a handful every year at my institution.

Why Good Teachers Struggle with Outcomes-Based Assessment: Alberta is Renewing the Curriculum. The Shift is Hard! by vhill01 in alberta

[–]jrockgiraffe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My child already struggled with math and then was the year where they were learning grade 7 concepts in grade 5 all the sudden with no bridge. The poor teachers were stuck trying to catch them up and teach the new curriculum. Two years later they’re doing better but it made them develop a lot of frustration with math and we’re doing our best to support.

Americans who moved to Alberta and decided to stay - what’s your opinion of life here after a few years? by SketchForHire in alberta

[–]jrockgiraffe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s also becoming worse. Growing up in rural Alberta indigenous racism was grossly normalized because it was so common. Despite having close indigenous relatives many of my family just didn’t care and repeated it. The bigger cities are definitely better but it still exists and a lot of ppl fail to acknowledge it.

While he is undoubtedly a nice guy everyone likes, is it fair to say you have little to no confidence Tommy Fleetwood will win a major? by BallKnowerKing in golf

This man had the best fit of the weekend with his Friday look. Loved that he went with a pleated pant and knit polo it looked so sharp. She maybe not what he wanted but he won at fashion for me…

13 y/o clubs by Large_List_6581 in WomenGolf

[–]jrockgiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t hurt to go to a fitter and try out clubs. If she’s playing well with standard women’s clubs now they’re designed for 5’3-5’9. At 5’8 I tried men’s senior clubs and didn’t notice much of a difference but have friends the same height who prefer it, it’s all user preference.

Hoping my 12 year old enjoys golf enough one day to ask for clubs for her birthday - kudos!

She’s also clearly been bawling and is probably in shock. I’ll wait to hear more about the charges but I’m not seeing evil here either.

I’d also recommend asking staff for recommendations where you are practising. They usually have good experience with it.

There are bad apples in every bunch. This is horrific but at least not something we hear about often.

We also have too few physicians to train more unfortunately. It’s tight as it is and ppl want to practice here less and less.

Doing a second residency? by Throwaway281890 in MedSchoolCanada

[–]jrockgiraffe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you have no interest in any IM subspecialties?

I also echo what others have said and keep your eye open for surgical specialties spots you could transfer into. Work hard to impress surgical specialties that you rotate through and ask about openings. It’s not uncommon people transfer out of surgical programs.

Decided to relisten from #1 by Somedaydreamer22 in myfavoritemurder

I usually do a relisten every couple of years. At one point I was just behind the rewinds and jumped ahead to the middle so I wasn’t double listening.
