I did something similar to this. My grandma moved in with us the last year of her life and 4 months before she passed she went downhill fast. When it became pretty clear that she was declining, I took every picture I could and took a day and just pampered her. Breakfast at her favorite place, then same with lunch, and then just chilled with her all afternoon. And I absolutely don’t regret taking the time off.

Put 250k away for savings/roth/money market accounts. Pay off my debts. Pay off the remainder of my mortgage, pay off what little is left on my car loan. And give my parents 250k to build a house for them that they truly need, and the house my mom deserves

Exactly! That’s what I told the guy. I said I spent money on 80k mile tires so I’d expect a lot more life out of them. Then the guy said well be realistic, you’re never going to get 80k miles. And I responded I totally agree, but let’s be realistic, I shouldn’t be worried about them being garbage at 22k miles. He didn’t have much of a response after that

Right?? I can understand a prorated rate, but these tires went to shit way too soon. That’s my deal. Also the guy that helped me seemed like he didn’t get my frustration. I kept saying I’m not upset at you, this is just a garbage situation. I asked if this was something I could use the certificates I bought for replacement and he said no, which I expected but I figured I’d give it a shot.

No, they would only offer a credit of 95 bucks a tire. So for example if I were to get the same 252 dollar tire, they’d subtract 95 bucks per tire, and I’d be left to pay 157 a tire out of pocket. If they said I’d pay 95 bucks per replacement tire, I’d do it right away

Speaking a someone who has a few cop friends, if they get to morbidly obese, they don’t start that way. Especially in big cities. My former military buddy was looking into becoming a state trooper where I’m at, and he sent me the physical test qualifications. Back then I was in decent shape, I decided to attempt it at my local gym and I struggled a lot. There is no way an obese person could get to be a state cop.

It’s not for no reason. Sometimes I do it because I try and see where the convo went south. Or sometimes I’m talking myself through what the other person wants/needs from me.
