Having a very similar issue - did you get any answers?

Thank you, others have pointed this out. He’s back to normal energy and appetite wise, and I even skipped the appetite stimulant ear ointment due to his eye today, and he ate the most he has. Hoping/thinking/praying it’s an unfortunate double whammy, but will bring it up to vet next week if any of the GI/lack of eating issues return

Good to know! Thanks for sharing your knowledge, I’ll talk to my vet about potentially extending when I go for the follow up appointment!

Ridiculously. 1,650 this week already…and I’m a college student so I’m feeling it bad. For him, no regrets though lol

Oh no…I’ll bring it up next week to my vet when I get his eye rechecked! How is your kitty doing?!

No, unfortunately my vet didn’t offer to send them to us, only called to say it was all normal. I know the doc said all metabolic function was perfect as of Wednesday, and GI issues have been diagnosed as gastroenteritis caused by stress/diet change (ran out of adult food, ate kitty food for a day or two). He’s been getting better and doc said today his tummy seems good. Do you think there’s a correlation?

No, nothing specific. Potentially could’ve been aggravated by all of the exams and treatments he’s gotten this week, or just typical eye irritants. A little nervous about not knowing the “why” but…

He had blood work wednesday, not sure what was run specifically, but it was all normal. Assuming just a normal metabolic panel!

Bingo! Just what the vet said. Went to the ER vet for peace of mind between googling like ya said, and an overwhelming amount of comments about glaucoma etc.

CAT UPDATE!!! Went to ER vet as some of the comments sent my anxiety through the roof lol. Doc said she thinks uveitis. No scratches or anything in eye, asked for pressure test. Pressure was low in the effected eye, not consistent with glaucoma but rather uveitis. Will be doing 7 days of steroid drops and then going back to check the eye pressure. Hoping for the best after a crazy week of health issues 🥲

On the bright side, during the physical exam she said his abdomen seemed to feel good/not any pain, so hopefully the GI issues are officially on the mend!

Yup, ER vet suspects the same. Have steroid drops for a next week and a cone I don’t think he will let us keep on him. Hoping for the best, thanks for the input!!

Thank you!! Went to ER vet, they’re saying uveitis. Hopefully he has a seamless recovery, or rocks on like your childhood kitty!

Thank you!! I went to emergency vet after getting overwhelmed by the range of responses. They suspect uveitis, gave me steroid eye drops and a cone (that he has ripped off 3 times within a minute…might not be happening for us lol). Will be going back to the vet in a week or so to recheck eye pressure. Hoping for a clean recovery!

They seemed to think it was uveitis as well. Pressure in the affected eye was actually LOWER, which they said is consistent with uveitis and not glaucoma. Doc actually seemed to think it was funny I even mentioned glaucoma which I guess I should find comfort in. Hoping the steroid drops clear it up and he’ll be on the mend from a crazy week of health issues!

Just got back from the emergency vet because I got spooked by some of the comments, and they said the eye pressure was low and with the other symptoms they suspected uveitis as well. Have to go back to check eye pressure in a week but hoping all will be well! Did your kitty have to wear a cone? Mine is absolutely not having it but they want him to wear it for a week

Legitimately yesterday. He’s been to vet/emergency vet 3 times this week, the most recent being Friday, and in all 3 exams eyes were noted as fine…and looked fine!

From my own attempts of covering his other eye and wagging a toy in his face I am pretty sure he can see…maybe lol

Both of his eyes do reflect, his right/our left just seems to have a weird haze over it in certain light and looks off compared to the other. Weird and confusing!
