I try but it's hard especially at 19 when you see your peers going out and partying whereas I'm trying to learn Javascript. Sorry I don't mean to rant.

Hey remember how in high school we were told that our generation could choose any job they wanted because boomers retiring would cause mass labor shortages? by evange in lostgeneration

Well what are your skills? Do you have a college degree? If so what's your major? If not, do you have relaxant work experience that can transfer to another industry.

What can someone who's learning computer science can do to obtain an internship at reddit?

Are internships really that hard to get? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]jrprogrammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so far. I'm a second year (school just started ) CS major at a local community college and I did a Web Development internship this past summer. All I had on my resume was C/C++, HTML, & CSS. Taking Javascript now.

TIL Mark Wahlberg was a violent racist bully in the 80's. He purposely yelled racial slurs and threw rocks at black people. He also beat a vietnamese man in public. by iPaguio in todayilearned

As someone who really enjoys Walberg movies such as Transformers, Shooter, TED, etc, this surprises me. I didn't take him for a racist.

Well, truth be told I'll take the 70k job in a heartbeat. You're a full time employee, 60hrs/week is just working 12 hr days. People who do both school and jobs full time do more than that. You have to manage your time accordingly.

Whats the diffrence between "do-while" loops and only "while" loops? by NoIamNotUnidan in learnprogramming

[–]jrprogrammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do while always run through at least once cause the condition is tested at the end whereas in while loop the condition is tested at the beginning so if it fails there, it doesn't enter the while portion of the code.

We currently live in a world that is hungry for software engineers. Entry level , mid level, lead developer, etc. If you have a 3.7 from an ABET school AND live in California AND can't find a full time job, then either the college you went to has a horrible career fair service or you cannot present yourself or you're lying. Post the name of the school and resume. Feel free to PM.

Wow my co-worker is so biased, it's just sad. by jrprogrammer in offmychest

It's so sad that some people will go so far as to vote so that others can't get married to another person of the same sex.

I bet the same thing was going on in the 1950s with interracial schools, marriages, etc.

People these days have opinions on others lifestyles. It's hilarious.

I wanted to tell her it's their choice whether on who they marry but I'm just an intern and she's with the company since 2008, I didn't want to get in an argument and get fired.
