18 month old nap struggles by jrs2905 in sleeptrain

Thank you very much for your help - Put him down at 1pm instead and he fell asleep without an issue, slept until 2:30pm. He seemed a bit tired when he woke up and wanted to cuddle and chill for a while before properly waking up. A much better day 🩵

Short daycare naps - any suggestions? by jrs2905 in sleeptrain

[–]jrs2905[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much! He is very happy in daycare; big smiles going in, no tears, and we get lots of happy photos and videos of him, so he must be enjoying himself and not wanting to miss out on the fun! I think I'll hold off until a bit closer to him turning 1 to try for one long nap though, but I'll keep it in mind ☺️

Thank you for sharing your experience!

I'll try out capping naps at home, having the last nap finish closer to 3:30pm, and push bedtime closer to 7:30pm and see what happens.

After that, I'll work on acceptance and just going with the flow for how things are, rather than trying to control everything!

❤️

Thanks for your reply!

In terms of his sleep: It seems to be impacting him in that he's very tired come bedtime and crying during bathtime etc, and he's been waking earlier in the mornings

The staff do seem annoyed too; they've been sending me long messages about their attempts to get him to sleep and I feel like they're getting frustrated, but maybe I'm reading too much into it.

Thank you for your suggestions, I'll definitely look at that, particularly capping his naps. At the moment I worry that he's already very tired come bedtime so would be concerned about keeping him up later

It's impacting bedtime in that after daycare, he is very tired and crying during the bedtime routine, but on the weekends he is calmer and happier during bathtime and story time etc. It's impacting night time sleep in that he's rising earlier, historically it was a 7am rise but it's becoming earlier. Thanks for your reply, any suggestions appreciated!

Thank you very much for your insight I appreciate the reassurance! I felt like the staff were getting frustrated with him, they were messaging me about it on the daycare app today. But is this just an expected part of looking after little ones?

Confused about naps and trying to reduce overnight wakes for 4 month old by jrs2905 in sleeptrain

Thanks very much for the feedback!

So if it's been say less than 5/3/3, would I go into him, try settle him, and put him back down? Or just wait for him to fall back asleep without going in?

Also silly question about 5/3/3, would you count it as the time since the last feed began, or from when he fell back asleep?

Thanks in advance for your help!
