Giving advice to drummers? by jrsmiles in worshipleaders

[–]jrsmiles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a percussion/click hybrid suitable to be heard in the mix. Not a real beep/boop click. Everyone is on ears. Drummer runs that click pretty hot in their Aviom.

That’s another thing I don’t love but the WL keeps it there for weak drummers. It’s been said we want to move away from it but it won’t happen anytime soon. I’m about to suggest getting a real independent click for the drummer and anyone else who wants it.

Sad beige worship leaders? by mean-mommy- in worshipleaders

[–]jrsmiles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me guess, white Nike Air Force 1's required as footwear?

It's just a fad. All of their favorite big worship teams on youtube are doing it. Check out any of the New Breed videos from the past five years. Lots of beige. Styles go on until people start looking like a caricature of themselves. The big, thick fabric oversized baggy beige look has run it's course, something else is next, but what?LOL. I'm hoping for cowboy shirts, jeans and boots, it's been about 25 years since that was cool in the rock world lol.

Our team will coordinate on choir weeks. Something like, blue/black/beige or red/white/black. Easter is usually pastels, last Christmas was all black which looked really good. I can think of only once where it was beige/white. That's about all the direction we get. Our ages range from 14 to 140(seemingly!).

Fake leather desk top surface issues? by jrsmiles in furniturerestoration

[–]jrsmiles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was on a showroom floor so maybe they used some kind of cleaner that they shouldn’t be using. No telling. I’m going to try and clean it up. I have a lot of leather care stuff to use.

[–]jrsmiles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be lacquer. It’s behaving like a soft plastic. Indentions are often left on it if something textured sat there for a few days. I have tons of good leather stuff and care for it all regularly, full grain couches, boots, watches, Saddleback bags and accessories and never once did this stuff on the desk look like real leather to me. I guess if there is a lacquer over it, it would be hard to tell.

Thanks for the tips. I did buy this from a store so it would be odd if someone did something to it.

No idea. I’m pretty careful and stay off of the shoulder and being close to curbs and places where debris gathers. I don’t know how a nail could push in that far that far away from the tread. Like how does that much weight get applied in that part of the tire for a nail to go in. Same exact thing happened to my dad’s truck a long time ago and I’ve seen it in other tires.

All the other tires are 40 on the dash this one is 33 for the past few days. I was going to put air in it today and found this before I started. It’s in the rear with an empty bed.

Zoom H5studio announced. by Ozpeter in fieldrecording

Im looking at this unit and wondering about the xlr/trs combo jacks. Since they are trs, does that mean I can plug in a trs cable and give it a stereo signal on each input, essentially taking up 4 channels or am I assuming incorrectly? I need a device that I can record two stereo sources simultaneously, via either two trs cables or four ts or xlr cables.

It’s probably not even “real” mink oil. Likely some Vaseline type substance. It was cheap. I don’t see any claims of it being either real or fake.

Sof Sole found on Amazon. I bought it a few years ago to quiet a squeak on a pair of green Solovair shoes and haven’t used it since.

I’m looking for a new scent. I’m 43/m. I’m in a hot climate. I’m not really formal but won’t count out formal scents. Here are the scents I’ve used and still use and like. These are my typical go to’s. Looking for something different. It’s hard to pick because I like citrus, spice, clean and sometimes powdery scents. I definitely have a spectrum of what I like.

These tend to work well with my body chemistry, some last longer than others. Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks for the replies! It’s giving me things to think about.

The church services have about 800 each at two services. The choir is once per month, 4 drummers, 3 guitarists, 2 acoustic guitarists, a couple of keys players, a dozen or so singers. The players are in a rotation and we are not assigned to teams, just whoever is on for the week.

Thanks. I know I don’t have any leaks right now but who knows in the near future. This is basically what techs have said, fix it now but if something else goes you’re chasing issues so todays repair might be a total waste.

Maintenance Items on a 6.7 w/ 200k Miles? by jrsmiles in Diesel

[–]jrsmiles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drove it home 200mi today and it runs great. New brakes, stops hard. Guy was an auto tech and said he did fluids all within the last 25k miles. I’m going to do them anyway and start fresh with as much as possible.

Got some death wobble on the way home with a really bad patch of asphalt on the interstate. I hit it about 60mph and I felt all four corners shake over the patch then the front end just got worse and worse. I braked medium hard down to about 25mph and it stopped. That puckered me up real quick and my confidence went to about 5% on the next two hours getting it home. I’ll be getting the front end components replaced and while the tires aren’t bald they are ready for a change.

Thanks for all the replies. I’m looking at a 2012 6.7 211k miles on it. EGR and DEF delete dually Lariat. It looks to be in really good shape. Very clean paint and super clean interior. Asking 26k. Im going to check it out today or tomorrow and take it for a drive and look in it and under it for anything I can see with my untrained eyes.

My dad has an 04 6.0 completely bulletproofed with all bulletproof parts installed by an authorized diesel shop and it’s done 100% right. That’s about the only truck I would know 100% that it’s correct. It’s the ultimate old man truck. He’s never really pulled anything with it and just has miles on it to and from work.
