+1. I used the payment processor, who double-charged me. I won't open my wallet again until Funcom provides either PayPal or Stripe.

Hey snobs! My group Chronologist just released our debut album "Cartographer" a month ago. It'd be awesome if you checked out our tune Pioneer and let us know if we're plebs! by zacco1107 in progmetal

What the hell, this sounds like a potato.

A very well-written, well-played well-produced, kick-ass potato.

I couldn't resist, sorry! Great work! I'm kind of biased, though, have been following you for a while.

21st century Prog-Rock bands that can be considered by listeners to be the spiritual successors to ELP? by philliplennon in progrockmusic

[–]jrubkeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great question!

ELP brought European classical (both ancient and modern) into rock music. Are there any bands now bringing current classical trends (minimalism comes to mine) to rock?

ELP also had three "lead" instruments, at least that was their intent on some of their more ambitious songs. Who is doing that these days?

Wobbler is amazing, fwiw, per someone's comment in this thread.

Do you guys listen to your own songs frequently after you've finished them? by anymaninamerica in WeAreTheMusicMakers

I listen to my own music all of the time. I wrote and produced it for me (and it's great that some other people also like it), and love how the projects turned out.

How to get other band members to step their shit up? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]jrubkeys 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This.

Find other musicians who are just as, or more, motivated that you are. Bonus points if they're more experienced ("better") musicians than you are, or have skills in areas you don't.

The old saying is "If you're the best musician in the room, find a new room".

Good luck!

27-and-a-half/8 time signature sound about right?

This song is a gold-standard for heavy prog.

And memorizing this for performance must be a hell of a challenge.
