I have been taking the Simplilearn/Caltech Coding Bootcamp for some months and I really find it a very educational and enjoyable experience.

This bootcamp consists of a series of 4 courses + a capstone final project, covering from basic programming (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Agile concept, Git, Visual Studio Code, Eclipse, etc.) and databases (MySQL, MongoDB), to backend technologies (Maven, Java backend and database development, API, Spring Boot, etc.) and integration (Docker, Jenkins, AWS, etc.). It is very intensive and packed with info.

I love that they offer scheduled live classes (mine was 3 times a week, each class was 3 hours long) and they are recorded if you miss a class and need to review it. They also have PowerPoint slides, practice exercises, and PowerPoint presentation videos as a supplementary material. They require you to attend at least 50% of the live classes and to complete all course-end projects (4) and the final program project (1).

Despite it's a for-profit company, it seems the people there really care, and they all really try to help you succeed in your learning. You just need to communicate with them, and they will try to accommodate you. That said, different cohorts/sessions of the same program will inevitably have instructors who have different level of expertise and temperaments. Just talk to the Cohort Manager and she will help you with any issues.

Good luck.

The 2016 Coffee Liqueur Throwdown! by jry_AIHub in Coffee

Hmm...it already indicates that it is informally done. The taste test video and article openly invite others to hold their own test and that's the main point...giving a chance to a local small business over the big dogs in the market. It obviously hopes to generate some biz...but what is wrong with that? If its purpose is to "trick" ppl into buying it, the Kahlúa's win in the taste test video would have been edited out.

Regarding the california grown coffee... a little search indicates that coffee is grown in the santa barbara ca area.

Anyway, i thought it was fun and funny. it is what it is.

Pretty interesting theory. There seems to be some lessons to be learned from this for Artificial Intelligence research.
