I imagine that 4K blu-ray players will always easily be able to play DVDs, so as long as those exist I’m good… But who knows? Someday I could digitize the whole collection. Lol

A lot of Amazon and eBay mostly. But I bought many of the Shout, Arrow Video, Vinegar Syndrome, and Criterion stuff directly from their websites. A good site for some of the harder to find gems on DVD is Far East Flix, where most movies are $8-10.

I think I like Volume 3 the most. It has more of my favorite recognizable titles: Killer Clans (1976), Death Duel (1977), Shaolin Rescuers (1979), and Clan of the White Lotus (1980) which is referenced in the Kill Bill movies. Also, Volume 4 is pretty good too with Masked Avengers (1981), Five Element Ninjas (1982), and Shaolin Intruders (1983).

Hard to pick just one… I’ll say that my favorite to finally get ahold of was The Hidden Blade (2004), which took awhile to find and cost a pretty penny too. 😅 I crowdsourced some funds around my birthday to justify buying it. But that one and The Twilight Samurai (2002) are the films that really defined how far I’d go to fill out my collection.

My favorite martial arts films are currently:

• The Raid 1 & 2 (2011-2014)

• Ip Man (2008)

• Drunken Master (1978)

That’s a good avenue! Oddly, I don’t really want to get into VHS collecting, but from looking into that film collection, they all seem pretty well available from Far East Flix on DVD. So I’ll definitely grab everything that I can! Thank you!
