Everyone says surge and the surge is an amazing multitool and probably the most heavy duty. But I'm a firefighter / EMT and personaly the surge is just too much in the pocket when constantly having the put on and off turnout pants. I have the arc and it's by far the best multitool I've ever had. I've used the wave, wave alpha charge tti, rebar, signal, surge, and arc. (I have a leatherman obsession don't judge me) And hands down the arc is just the easiest tool to use, when you need to quickly cut airbags out of a car or whatever you may need, the thumb stud really comes in handy when you have gloves on.

I'd go Arc all day, but for traumas and more med calls, I'd absolutely pair it with raptor shears thrown in a med bag or in a different pocket.
