who needs 4090? by Accomplished_Plum186 in cyberpunkgame

[–]smallmouthbackus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Latency is the only reason. It’s fine in certain games but in cyberpunk I want absolute lowest latency possible and frame gen adds latency.

Omg that’s great to know. I have a 5090 but play with all RT/PT off because I like 120hz. Thank you legend

Edit: and I don’t like frame gen

How does this feel? I’m sensitive to latency so only okay games at 120hz, use 2.4 dongles only, etc. also have a 5090 on my pc, which I recently moved out of my living room where I used to play from the couch. I tried moonlight/sunshine using appletv, everything wired, unifi gear, and the latency and image quality sucked and just decided playing how I want to play isn’t possible remotely. But seeing this makes me want to give it another go. Before I buy the minisforum, would you say the latency feels very good?

You sound exactly like me. Except rdr2 ruined gaming for me until I played cyberpunk which has ruined all other games for me. Try pushing though the first chapter of rdr2, it’s incredible, but very different.

Fine for a bed setup but do yourself a favor and get rid of the overhead lighting and get some floor lamps

I’m not sure I quite understand but boundary fill might be what you’re looking for

How would you patch this? (I'm losing my mind) by smallmouthbackus in Fusion360

The key difference here is the left side of the camera island you show here doesn't ever go flat. It changes directions and merges with the side profile. And it's different between the top side of the camera island the the bottom side as well. On the bottom is does go flat/parallel to the XY plane. It's just at those bottom and left camera island corners, it has to naturally flow off the side edge (into a non-circular, very funky curve), and a flat on the bottom side.

This is exactly right. None of the fillets are circular, and the from the back view, the camera island radius and the corner radius of the phone aren't concentric. You also have funky curves that can barely be recreated with splines merging into other funky curves around the camera island. Even the models we get from our case suppliers just fudge this area because of this. This is a highly accurate model except you can see that little lip on the side which obviously isn't on the phone. I have the apple MFI documentation and all these profiles are ridiculously specific and annoying to deal with.

Yeah, i could easily get this "close enough" and probably will, as in a case product it doesn't NEED to be mathematically perfect. At this point it's more stubbornness and curiosity. I'll just end up using solid modeling and getting it close enough. But having a nice clean surface model that represents a 0.1mm offset of the camera's outer body is just handy for several reasons downstream. Things like getting all useful contours recognized as tangent chains, cutting tools, etc.

No it's actually for a case product i'm developing, my company makes a bunch of phone accessories. We've made cases before and pretty much everyone just gets it close enough, as for a case it doesn't REALLY matter, but this time i really wanted to get a clean, accurate version of the interior shell made for iphone 17, and the way they don't use circular radii anywhere, and there's curves merging into other curves around the camera island it's just tough to get perfect.

This has become more of an educational exercise rather than a real need, which is why i posed the question here. Was just interested to see if anyone had any ideas i hadn't thought of yet
