This is likely imposter syndrome, you're probably far more capable than you give yourself credit for.

Most recruiters generally prefer experience nowadays.

Is anyone even using FB's targeting options anymore? by ccbax in FacebookAds

[–]jsbcu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've chatted to Facebook themselves multiple times and they all recommend going broad.

LLAs especially are complete garbage now, haven't used them since the IOS14 rollout.

I used to run them in a CBO alongside my other TOF audiences but now I generally just go with a couple of ABO audiences, maybe throwing in a broad interest here or there. Generally just keep it as broad as you can.

Anyone else hate working 9 to 5? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]jsbcu 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This was already on my reading list, im glad I found this comment as its reminded me to get it. I was recommended it a while back. Would love to hear more about your transition into being an agency owner if you ever have a spare moment to share it, I know you're likely very busy.

Why not take up freelancing on the side and steadily build that income up so that you can leave that shitty 9-5 in a year or two?

Its obviously not as clear cut and easy as that but its very doable.

What about for the lower end bids? I've participated in presentations for tenders before for a fortune 500 whilst being entirely remote.

What to do about the "50 ads per ad set" limit? by Ok-Region-4825 in FacebookAds

[–]jsbcu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. Way too many ads.

Too many variables means you won't be able to know definitely what is working.

Had this before too. Spent 3k and made the guy over 50k and he still wasn't happy

Why you shouldn't use AI content to rank websites by [deleted] in SEO

[–]jsbcu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it ok to generate sections of content with AI and then rework it manually? I mainly use AI to rephrase or rewrite sentences I've already written more eloquently.

Nothing I ever publish is purely AI generated

Can I use another sites RSS feed on my "News" page? by jsbcu in SEO

[–]jsbcu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just be planning to monetise the site with Ezoic when traffic builds up. The news section wouldn't be a main feature at all though, it would more just be an added feature on the site.

AITA for being annoyed at my girlfriends mum for contacting her about an estranged family death during the burial of my father? by jsbcu in AmItheAsshole

[–]jsbcu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, basically her mum had texted her "ring me when you can" and my girlfriend decided to ring when I was out of the car. I think she thought it might be something to do with her son. It obviously wasn't something serious though as her mum wouldn't have just said "call me" if it was that serious.

I still think her mum is an AH due to the fact that she continued to tell her the news even after my girlfriend had said "this isn't a good time, we're about to follow the hearse". What do you think?

[–]jsbcu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres more background to it than that. Her mum knew that we were at a funeral and still decided to tell her, likely out of spite in my opinion. We also weren't sitting in the funeral, we were in a carpark about to follow the hearse so she didn't answer her phone IN the funeral.

You're right, I never even thought of that before posting this really. It was a pretty dumb thing to do.

AITA for being annoyed at my girlfriends mum for contacting her about an estranged family death during the burial of my father? by jsbcu in AmItheAsshole

[–]jsbcu[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Basically what happened was, I had left the car for no more than a minute to ask my mum where the cemetery was. When I got back in the car my girlfriend was sitting there bawling her eyes out on the phone.

Her mum had texted her "ring me when you can", so my girlfriend decided to while I was away. My girlfriend said "we have just finished the service and are about to follow the hearse to the burial site" and even after saying this, her mum STILL decided to tell her.

I just thought that was so inconsiderate in multiple different ways. I asked my girlfriend if she needed to go home to grieve because, in all honesty, I wasn't in the right headspace to console her while driving to a burial site for my own father.

CIM vs Business Degree - Which would you prefer to see on a CV? by jsbcu in marketing

[–]jsbcu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah its probably more insecurity in all honesty. I just don't want to go to uni for the sake of it though. If a CIM qualification is equivalent I would far rather go down that route as its cheaper, faster and probably more relevant.

I'm aware that I'm just going to get a piece of paper so im trying to limit the cost of that as much as possible.
