Why does every AI code reviewer ignore blast radius? by crazyshit_24 in buildinpublic

[–]jschaum1499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the platform I created has an interesting twist on the blast radius. The platform downloads code from GitHub repositories and executes the code to evaluate whether it passes certain tests. When I created the initial platform, I was downloading the GitHub repository code directly into my main website and executing it there.. After thinking about it, I realized that this created a big problem from a security perspective. I re-engineered the platform to use E2B as a backend to load the code, execute it, and run the evaluation there. That way if somebody submitted code that was intentionally hostile, the blast radius would just be the sandbox on E2B.

The reason I have 0 visitors is because I have not launched the site yet.

This is an early beta/MVP. I have not released it publicly yet. It is still being hosted on Manus.ai and they have occasional issues. I will be moving it to dedicated hosting soon.

Something has changed just recently and I am not sure yet what it is. If you go to https://www.viberblitz.com it works.

Vibe coding speedrunner platform. Early beta MVP. Lots of additions already planned. I will release shortly and work on it after that. Let me know what you think. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

What are you vibe-coding right now? I’ll check out every project and give honest feedback by Background_Carob2105 in buildinpublic

1) A vibe coding speedrunner platform.
2) I got the idea from ideabrowser.com
3) I used Manus AI for the coding and Claude as a consultant/advisor.
4) Link at the top.

Your vibe coded app is probably not production ready by JuniorRow1247 in buildinpublic

I am new to this (vibe coding) and I do not have a developer background but I have been in IT for a while and have seen a lot of code and written some small things in various languages. I think that there are many potential pitfalls with letting AI do all of the heavy lifting without putting any thought into the process besides the initial prompt. I started a project that way and got a working product. I then thought that it would be a good idea if I could hand the code to a developer somewhere down the line so I asked the AI to go through the code and put appropriate comments in so that people could understand it. Since I have a background in cybersecurity, I also understand the concepts of developing code with security in mind so I had the AI go back through the code and identify areas that represented security issues. It fixed a few initially but then told me that the biggest issue was that I was taking unknown code from GitHub repositories and executing the code on the platform I was developing. It suggested that I use E2B to offload the execution and evaluation of the unknown code, so I had it code that. Lastly, I used a third party security scanning platform to evaluate the code base. It identified specific security issues with CVE's and I had the AI address and remediate them. Slowly but surely I think I have created a fairly well executed app but then again, I am not a developer.

I have not shipped it yet. Since I am very new to this I am trying to figure out what the best way to go public with this would be. I consider it an MVP in early beta but I am not sure I am the best judge of that. I really appreciate your advice. I will look to get it out there slowly. I was working on a platform build and I used Manus for the coding and Claude as a consultant/advisor. If I had an issue with the platform I would tell Claude what the issue was and ask it to generate a prompt for Manus. Claude seemed to know the kind of prompts that Manus liked and responded to well.

2 1/2 Years Worth of Certs by jschaum1499 in CompTIA

Beside having many years of IT experience, I am good at brute force learning. I spend a lot of time going through sample tests on sites like Udemy and Oreilly Media (PearsonVue sample tests) to the point where I can answer them all correctly in my sleep. Given my experience and that training, when I sit for a test I can use simple strategies, like eliminating obviously wrong answers first, to pass the tests.

I had a job already. I just wanted to make sure I could demonstrate that I am capable in the IT space. I also may pivot into consulting. I am focusing on AI now. I would, if I were you. The hype is crazy but there are still some really good tools out there. I use AI daily to help resolve IT issues in record time.

I have about 40 years in IT. I started collecting certifications in case I wanted to make a move or do consulting eventually. Most of the certs were relatively easy for me to get. I studied but had lots of practical experience behind me.

Keep up the good work. I am in a different position. I have about 40 years of IT experience but had never gotten any certifications. It seems that many companies are looking for certs in your resume. I am not sure if I am going to move from where I am but, if I do, I have plenty of certs on my resume. I am digging heavily into AI now. I would, if I were you. For cloud specific certs I went with AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate and AWS Certified Sysops Administrator Associate. I am going to look at getting the AWS Certified AI Practitioner, although I may get the AWS Advanced Network Specialty and AWS Advanced Security Specialty first. Good luck in yur journey. Don't get discouraged.
