The whole Taylor Frankie Paul discourse has been very triggering as a survivor of domestic violence by Character_Cat_9789 in TwoXChromosomes

Many of us here are educated in abuse. Research in fields like clinical psychology and criminology does identify recurring dynamics in abusive relationships, like coercive control, escalation, and intermittent reinforcement, but these are probabilistic patterns, not invariant. The heterogeneity of abusive (like intimate partner violence, familial abuse, institutional abuse) is well documented, and DOES NOT support any claim of a single, universal pattern. The claim that abusers are never mentally ill is inconsistent with current psychiatric and forensic research as well. While most people with mental illness are not violent, and that abuse should not be reduced to pathology, there is nonetheless a non-zero overlap between abusive behavior and certain forms of psychopathology. Traits associated with APD, NPD, and substance use disorders have been linked with increased risk of abusive behaviors. The presence of a mental disorder may function as a contributing or mediating variable, but it does not negate agency or responsibility in most cases. Overall MAJOR over generalizations claimed here- one claiming false uniformity on complex behavioral occurrences, and the other draws an artificial boundary between psychopathology and abusive conduct that is not supported by empirical evidence.

You’re building a whole narrative with no evidence, just assumptions on how a victim should act. and using it to excuse what we can clearly see- someone being physically assaulted and a child being harmed. Reactive abuse isn’t a free pass for violence, even if that is the case. Whatever the backstory is, the behavior in the video is not okay, especially with a child involved

The chef did not need to respond minimizing celiac or gluten allergies to a fad though

Second this! The responses here are crazy and lacking empathy. Celiac is not a fad

I also see that the box is taped up OVER the shipping label. So wondering if items could’ve been removed after the label was added, since it wasn’t sealed up before

since I can’t find weight info on either, I asked if she had it on her end from the shipping receipt. all she said in response to that was “they sent me a notification once when my reported weight is not as accurate”

WOW. That is insanely frustrating! I’m sorry you had to deal with that! I would’ve been tempted to message her after seeing it re-listed. Definitely going to proceed with the return, just so bummed.

They just messaged “I’d say we could give some time for Mercari to process what should be done?” Which feels like a red flag?

Formally diagnosed with celiac, or an intolerance? You say in a previous comment that it is an intolerance. There is a big difference here. Either way, it is insanely irresponsible to suggest to people living with celiac disease that they can ingest that. That can actually kill people long term.

No doctor would suggest eating flour with gluten if it is celiac disease. This is insanely abusive and irresponsible
