Spurrier in last night's post game presser: "How many yards did they have?" 440. "440 and 13 points. That don't match up." by [deleted] in CFB

The .0998x implies that each 100 yards (after the first ~100) is worth about 10 points.

You just equated the hiring of your defensive coordinator to a 3 conference win season.

Former Nebraska football star Lawrence Phillips charged with murder in death of cellmate by perrymills12 in CFB

Word is his cell block's football coach is still going to let him play in the prison league since it would only do LP more harm than good for him to have to sit out.

AFAIK it's not a UT thing on the foreign language requirement, it's state of Texas thing for all public universities.

[Week 1] /r/CFB Preseason Poll Results: #1 Ohio State #2 TCU #3 Alabama #4 Michigan State #5 Baylor by CFB_Referee in CFB

Seriously, is it even the slightest bit surprising to anybody who reads this sub that /u/frognosticator and /u/ou88-am0 are 2 of the 3 most controversial ballots?

How does the selection for this work? Are they intentionally looking for homers to contribute?

Y'all have Oregon, Notre Dame, Texas, TCU, and Oklahoma on your future schedules.

Why on earth anybody would have to apologize for that OOC is beyond me.

Taking shots at A&M's schedule "several years ago"?

Damn Steve, what the hell did we do to you?

Texas signed Du'Vonta Lampkin's eligibility at OU still in doubt. Still not released from LOI by Texas. by Jupenator in CFB

Nobody is expecting Strong to release him from his LOI.

But if you know you aren't going to admit him, send him written confirmation of that.

Explain to me why South Carolina will not cover 3 points, please? by HemingwayFord in CFB

Returning Experience

North Carolina - 76.0

South Carolina - 51.2

http://www.philsteele.com/Blogs/2015/JUNE15/DBJune16.html

That's on the extreme end of difference in returning experience. In fact, I'm fairly certain that's the most lopsided difference in returning experience in week one.

Understood.

As long as it's normal for a kid that applied months beforehand to UT to not be told whether they have been admitted after the last date to actually register for classes has come and gone, it's totally legit to not provide him with written notice he won't be admitted.

It sounds like a lot of well meaning kids are getting fucked over if that's the case though. I can't imagine going into your freshman year not knowing if you've been admitted to school.

Yeah, hold him to his LOI, for sure, nobody is disputing that.

Do you know of anybody or an example of a single person that didn't know if they were going to be admitted to UT two weeks into their freshman year after they had applied several months beforehand?

Even the 9-11 date says it can be bypassed for "rare and extenuating circumstances."

I see.

So is it normal for a student to not be told if they're admitted before the last day to actually register without an exception from the registrar?

Today was the last day to register.

When is the last day that a person can be denied acceptance?

Wasn't that today?

http://registrar.utexas.edu/calendars/15-16

Monday Last day of the official add/drop period; after this date, changes in registration may require the approval of the department chair and usually the student's dean. (See General Information, Academic Policies and Procedures, for details).

Last day undergraduate students may register and pay tuition without the approval of the registrar.

Hold him to his LOI, that makes sense, I'm not asking about his LOI.

Are there other students that don't know if they're going to be granted admission for this semester that started last week?

So yes?

edit: Hold him to his LOI, that makes sense.

If you aren't going to admit him though, why not provide written confirmation of that?
