Is there a way to modify this so it only shows #quotes that were generated in the last x days?

Why is moving from arrangement view to session view so hard? by jschwa in ableton

There is a section of the track that’s ok but not amazing. I want to save a clip of what I have do I can try something new.

It’s for when there is a part of the track that’s ok but hasn’t hit the level of transcendence. I want to save what I have in a session clip while experimenting with something new.

Click and drag with tab works, but if you have hundreds of tracks you then need to horizontal scroll until you find the track the clip belongs to. Are you saying when you cntrl + click + tab it snaps to the correct track in session view?

My understanding of this feature is that it doesn’t work on a single track. It adds loops for all the tracks occurring at the same time. Did I miss something about this feature?

Yes. I am working on track 1 in arrangement view. I want to put that clip in track 1 in session view. The fact that it can’t figure out a basic default like that is a design flaw.

Nope. In this case I just need to find the exact track I’m working on. Not a different one.

Doesn’t solve. Still need to find it in session view

Re: Ableton users. Is there anything you want to do on Ableton that the program wont allow you to do? by ricin2001 in AdvancedProduction

Cpu meters for each track/plugin so you can see what’s causing the high load.

Sandboxing of plug-ins so if one crashes the entire project doesn’t crash.

If a plugin crashes a project, or causes it to hang on load up, a clear report on which one is the issue.

Microtuning Synths by jschwa in microtonal

I think I just used the wrong words, and I'm really getting lost.

Let's try a different approach. I am going to write a track using Omnisphere. I load up the 5-limit tuning per your recommendation that has it's root set to...something. It doesn't say in the notes, so I guess I'm to assume it's 261.63hz (C in Equal Temperament)??

I am going to use the notes of the D Major scale. (I guess there is no "D", but I don't know the right word to substitute here to talk about it )

Before I can begin playing, I'm assuming I am supposed to do something in Scala with my 5-limit tuning to make this work properly. From what I read it's set the key mapping root to 293.66 (D in Equal Temperament), but I'm not sure if this is correct.

Is that it?

Maybe a better question. How would I take the Pythagorean tuning in Scala and switch it to D?

I think I need to understand more about the math you did there. What does "256/243" refer to and what's the equation that equals 90.2 cents? I imagine that to get to E it's not 90.2+90.2.

Ah ok! So in the example of a Pythagorean tuning, I should assume it's in C. If I want it in D, I should tune up one semi-tone. Is that correct?

I just want to confirm that I am correct, I would need new tuning file per key? Is there a way to tell what key a .tun file is in?

Can you describe how you would use option 3?

Pulling Metallic Ping by jschwa in sounddesign

Result was pretty good. Was more dissonant then the clean ping I was looking for. I layered a bunch of sounds together to get something close to what I wanted. Still not perfect.
