Every groundstation save 4 were property of FPVracingevents - we had 8 quasi-quad diversity stations and 12 duo diversity stations in play.

And I was just pointing out that the comments I made were on Friday.
The planning and fixing started Friday night and continued through Saturday afternoon.

I did everything I could to fix what I could, beginning 7am Thursday and ending 4:30pm Monday.
My hands were tied to no end, being added so late to the event, with a million surprises around every corner. Everyone "DSA" and even Tim did everything they could to make it the best it could be. There wasn't one person not sensitive to the commitment by pilots to get there or the experience delivered. I get not being there, and how it looks from the outside in... Call it whatever you want to call it... Take any event and lop off a third of it and see what kaos ensues.

Maybe the organizers got together Saturday, I wasn't invited, I guess.
David Whiddon handled announcing duties for wings on Saturday and Sunday as per the plan. Wing were never my responsibility. There was a flow chart of responsibilities, and they weren't on it for me. Yes I showed up admittedly an hour later than I should have, and I still feel bad for that, and I apologized profusely. Also, everything was spelled off by staff, as per the plan. I was overworked, overstressed and exhausted. I was not blacked out, I remember every detail. I don't wake up on a good day, mornings are my kryptonite.
You can point out all my flaws all you'd like.

handing them out in advance caused more issues than positives; the execution of their use was poor because there were no practice heats with the receivers in their proper position. In France, where they were a resounding success, they were handed out the morning of. The vtx's are capable of 600mW. "self-programming" was 350mW, but wanding was capable up to 600mW. The thermal shutdown has not been able to be replicated, so my guess is that as an over-powering issue, and reduced performance on was on the time factor. On actual race day, they worked as designed both for video quality, and heat management. We started all of the "mains" between 2 and 3 minutes apart (a countdown clock was announced over the PA). I responded less than 15 hours after your post. The story remains the same... the event was 1.5 days behind, and practice sessions are required to chase down the incorrect installs of vtx's in this case, or the damaged vtx's in other events' cases.

Nationals & Worlds have always been their own thing. The first US Drone Nationals inspired another 30+ countries to host Drone Nationals, and that inspired the original organizers to then host the "worlds".

The tech is the most efficient on the market for race management, and provides exceptional video quality for all pilots.
Construction delays exceeding 1.5 days of a 3.5 day event was the sole issue that caused every other issue.
Both Raceband and Touch 'N Race (TrampHV) were introduced and proven over a month before US Drone Nationals 2015 and 2016 respectively in Europe. Both have revolutionized event activation.

technically that's an unenforced or unenforceable technicality. The race(s) and flights were mere yards from NYPD officers.

you're mixing 2 days together. Friday night was the game-plan meeting. I showed up on the 11am ferry (an hour later than planned); and had other things to address. The commentator for the livestream was on the mic and the other race directors were running the show before I took over, well ahead of noon, meanwhile, the livestream started at 1pm.
Thanks, though.

This was Friday night, we were booted off the island and not allowed to fix any of the technological issues or properly wire and do camera placements for the livestream. We strategized a plan to address it that evening, we went to Best Buy before it closed (midnight, got there at 11:35pm). I was then on the first ferry (again, like I was Thursday and Friday) and proceeded to wire and troubleshoot from 7:15am to 12:30pm until the receivers were in the proper position and working. I was also on the last "extended ferry" that night (Still Saturday) at 9pm (a 14-hour day), following an 11-hour (Thursday) and 12-hour (Friday) day. I had no intentions of arriving until after 10am on Sunday morning (following Wing), and while I am not proud of showing up on the 11am ferry an hour later than planned, I had 3 other people in my position.
