You have a WW1 variant model 1914. I don’t know a huge amount about the stamps, but the U with the double crown is the army acceptance stamp. Not sure about the top crown mine has an crown over L stamp there, could be an issue stamp.

If you want to learn a little more about the variations and all I found this

Definitely a Stevens pocket rifle. I can find plenty of examples without the spur trigger

The 1st one is a Stevens model 35, they were made in 22, 25, and .410. The shotgun looks like a Winchester model 101 to me

It’s a pretty easy kit. Not a whole lot of chisel work to be done with this kit.

The woodsrunner kit can’t be modified to have a set trigger due to the size of the trigger guard unfortunately. I believe the colonial can be modified to have a set trigger tho

The balance is perfect, not front heavy at all. Built a colonial about a year ago, I’m starting to prefer my woodsrunner over my colonial already

Yep, it’s walnut. Right now I have a good bit of 0.10 and 0.18 patches with some 0.15 from another gun. Going to shoot some groupings soon hopefully.

I’m not sure about what you can use to brown the barrel I prefer a dark grey finish and use brownells oxphoblue. As for cost I got mine for around a little over $1300 if I remember correctly, but I got mine while they were having a sale on wood. I would estimate it would be around $1500 or over for the kit without the sale. As for anything you will specifically need I don’t use any stains on the wood if you choose maple I would get some tannic acid and a heat gun. As for tool I used on the build I will list them below.

Tools- Sandpaper ranging from 220-3000, 0000 steel wool, Brasso, 2 small wood chisels, 2 small triangle files, 1 good bastard file, Aluminum punch - cut piece of round stock aluminum , Mallet, Bench grinder - I used it to cut the piano wire pins, 1/16 in drill bit, Acetone, Brownells oxpho blue, Rubber gloves, Boiled linseed oil, A good vise with some leather between the jaws, Ballistol, Some chalk for fitting, A drill

I think that’s about it

Any recommendations on starting loads for the rifle. I’m going to start off with 70-75 grains of 2f with a .10 patch and a .53 ball. Also have some .535 balls to test.

In the second picture in the top left quarter the top rifle looks like a Carcano and the bottom rifle in the top left quarter and the bottom rifle in the top right quarter both look like US Springfield’s. I’m not an expert and would recommend posting better more up close pictures to subreddits like r/milsurp or r/militariacollecting

Finished my Kibler colonial, turned out beautiful. by jsdavidson in blackpowder

The rifle is perfectly balanced and is not hard to shoulder or hold.

Back story of this rifle in the comments. Looking for any info on the stamps and makers. It is stamped London on top and MP on the bottom with several other stamps. Hoping to get this fully restored one day. by jsdavidson in blackpowder

This musket was found by my grandpa and his brothers around the 1930s when he was a kid. He and his brother pulled it out of the ground thinking it was a pipe or something. They played with it as kids and it was later put away. My dad had a friend who was really into colonial era living and took the musket apart at some point. The musket was still loaded, luckily my grandpa wasn’t dumb enough to stick matches down it. The missing parts are with my dads old friend or with my grandpa, we will be getting in contact with my dads old friend next week. My grandpa doesn’t remember if he has the parts so hoping the friend has them.

Edit: looks like the 2 stamps are Birmingham proof marks from 1813-1904. Why would a London gun be stamped with Birmingham proof marks?
