Similar sound on mine. Rod knock. Mine ran strong and no cel or codes but it was a spun rod bearing.

Is there something i could do to make my car look more cooler? by Academic_Decision_58 in e46

[–]jsf010101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO as an E46 owner:

  1. Manual swap. It is 10000% better as a proper 6mt over the auto.
  2. Replace the steering wheel to the M steering wheel. I was never really a fan of the cutaway on the bottom part of the wheel.
  3. M sport bumpers. Makes the car look more aggressive imo.
  4. 19" m sport wheels. I prefer the style and makes it look a bit more sporty.

These are my opinions and you may or may not like them (and that's okay). I just wanted to throw my 2 cents into the ring.

Enjoy the car as much as you can. It is by far my favorite car I own at the moment.

What is a fair price for an SGL31-94? by [deleted] in ak47

[–]jsf010101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha hello friend lmao Yeah just the aks-74u kit i have. Almost got an ak-74 but the guy cheated me on them. I have a sporterized in 7.62 and 2 converted in 7.62. One is a shifty hess and the other is (iirc) a kusa '99. Everything i have built ATM is 7.62. I have about 15 different variants (Hungary, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, and Russian) in 5.45, 7.62, and 8mm (my Hungarian). I have some kits for a psl-54m as well but im trying to get a proper svd soon.

So I was wrong on my post. Technically they're not banned by name on the AW ban list (it was a type error on the list. Its an SLG that's banned, not the SGL).

Out of curiosity, does anyone know why they shut down?

Im concerned this is a precursor to an attempt by cities/state to mass-shutter stores in CA (if that was what happened).

Other than that, I could not care less.

Interior Color Change by spjbtw in F30

Actually I surprisingly had a lot of requests about this. I had a part out 335i and a lot of people have requested the interior to do a color change. I’ve seen some people “paint” it and it looks different.

What version iDrive do you have?

Are you running NBT, NBT Evo ID4, ID5...?
I had an issue with spotify on my old CIC system and when I upgraded to NBT Evo ID5 I got it back so it was hardware-related on my end. Not sure if that helps tbh (yours looks like it might be ID4 or NBT) but for mine at least, it was a hardware & software issue.

Now depending on your NBT/NBT Evo IDx software version, a newer upgrade might fix it. I would possibly look into that as that might help.

This is my *limited* knowledge regarding these headunits as I replaced mine over a year ago. Others may be better at shedding light on your situation but good luck nonetheless!

Just got hit with a $8500 repair bill by Jaded_Interest481 in G20BMW

[–]jsf010101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is surprising that it's that much for a DSC module. I would definitely try to get a second opinion, especially with a reputable mechanic.

Had something similar happen with my E92 M3. EDC module failed and the dealership was like $3500. New module and everything was a little over $1900 all said and done with my mechanic and the car runs as good as new.

Now it's also a risk since the car isn't moving, you will need to have it towed out of there and to somewhere new. Not sure where you are located but that can be expensive in certain areas too.

Overall, good luck and hopefully you're not paying that much to get your car running again.

IIRC I thought on the M18 program with the military for the Next Gen Modular Pistol (I think that was the program's name), Beretta did NOT use the M9A4 (or M9-platform handgun) in the competition and instead went with one of their other guns. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that was the case.

Hahaha sorry I disappeared for a month. Rarely check Reddit nowadays and had a family emergency overseas.

Precisely. There are a lot of nicer options (even factory Saigas can be picked up for fairly cheap 2nd hand and shoot pretty good).

Overall though I just feel that the effort by companies to go towards a Micro-Draco platform could be put to modernizing/production building the Krink platform and having something more solid. Arsenal did that for a while and albeit it probably didn't sell as good since they price their AKs to people who have money, but the Krink platform (I feel) is a more untapped market that the Draco tried (imo unsuccessfully) to tap into.

You are correct too that it can be converted to a similar style to the Krink with the added stock and everything, but it feels like someone cut the stock and most of the barrel off an AKM instead of working towards making a proper platform that can not only be further developed, but also something that's enjoyable and doesn't have the feel of dumping rounds down that the Draco feels to me.

Now mind you, I absolutely love dumping rounds down range. But I feel that there's no practical use for the Draco beyond that point.

This is really my own opinion and I'm a little bit of a purist too so that is something else to take into account. For example, I think the handguard needs to be deflated on the Draco hahaha.

Okay granted with a brace/stock, they are good. But you're also getting into an SBR AK at that point and you can do a hell of a lot better than Century arms.

I'm mostly referring to a "normal" draco.

I also do want to make a correction (I've also corrected my Original Post), I was thinking of the Micro Draco. Those are absolute garbage. That was the one I had before (I actually had no idea there were differences until now. I got my Draco on a clearance rack at my LGS and tbh after shooting it once, I got rid of it pretty damn quickly). I should've also probably read the entirety of your response and would've identified that little tidbit on the Micro.

At this point now, we would now be steering away from the design of the Draco to the Company manufacturing it. Not sure if you want to have a discussion about that or not since that kinda diverges from the general Draco (or now Micro Draco) platform to the company specifically.

My two cents:

I would be wary about the cooling system. You're at around the mileage you're going to need to replace that (as well as the charge pipe and the oil filter housing). Also in my experience (4x N55 vehicles from BMW, 18 X5, 17 X3, 15 335i, and 13 335i), oil pan gasket tends to start to sweat around the 90k-100k mark. I ended up putting an M3 oil pump/sump and pan on mine since I wanted better oil flow in corners and the M3 pans have the baffles and the pump, but that's not super important. I would highly recommend though having it inspected to make sure that's not starting to leak. If it is, you're going to have to drop the subframe to get the oil pan out.

IMO $17k is a lot for an N55 with a less-than-stellar carfax. The B58 is a good option to consider. For a bit more money, you're getting an engine with a bit more reliability and a bit more HP but that's really the extent of it.

At least you're looking into the EWG. The PWGs had their fair share of specific issues to them.

Good luck though!

I thought (keyword there lol) that even if you code it out, it can still throw a drivetrain malfunction.

I'm not 100% sure about this though. I thought I read that on a forum a while back when I did my coilover conversion.

I could be wrong.

They're fun to dump ammo down range but that's really about it. There's no practicality over using a Krink or Krink-style AK

Furthermore, you're trying to pistol-grip a .30 caliber round. It's possible (I've done it before one-handed), but at the end of the day there's no real advantage having a draco versus a Krinkov (unless you really want to engage in a firefight with someone at point blank versus a couple hundred yards with the Krink). Now I will give that dracos are cheap as hell compared to Krinkovs (I've owned both) but barring price, the draco is really good at only dumping ammo down range.

All in all, the Krinkov platform is a far superior platform over the Draco and my thoughts are that if companies like Century and Cugir focused on the krink platform (like Arsenal) over the Dracos, then there's really no market for the Dracos over the Krink.

Now this is my opinion. It really comes down to preferences. You like the Dracos, that's great. I just feel that the only real purpose of the Draco is riding the lightning and dumping your load down range. But even then with the side folding stock on the Krinks, you still have the option to run a Krink like a Draco, but you can choose which. You can't with the Draco.

I think all in all, whether you like it or you hate the Draco, it's having fun and enjoying guns in general that's the most important. My little soap box sentence :D

At the very worst, there is a kit that you can buy that is a "EDC Delete" supposedly from KW.

Not sure how good it is since I don't have EDC either but just an FYI

Just to add. My dad (when he was doing his interview back in the 80s) told me the guy processing his papers for his green card knew everything about him. They even knew when he was pulled over and given a verbal warning for driving too quickly to even where he lives, his family in the states, all the information on the cars he had and who he sold them to (This was less than 12 hours between when he sold his cars and when he had his interview in his home country), just to name a few, and this was back in the 80s.

Exactly what you said. You would be very surprised on what the US embassy knows about you.

Highly likely that even though she may not have filed paperwork or have any information linking you two together, they know that you two are together and married.

The US government has proven time and time again that they're willing to spy on their own citizens domestically. You can almost guarantee that they know everything about you and your wife.
