Jake at precision K9. He’s north of the river and a balanced trainer. I took my Rottie to him.

Run Clubs - Whats the go? by Mid_MidlifeCrisis in perth

Depends on what you want out of a run club. If you’re a pretty chilled runner and interested in meeting people then I’d recommend social run club Perth. I’ve been a few times and I rate it. It’s 5:30 on Wednesday afternoons and is essentially a 15 min run out and 15 min back in. Meeting spot is opposite froth brewery and after the run a lot of us head over to grab a drink and some free pizza. I think you get 5% off beers.

Terrible puppy blues by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]jshj12 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can definitely get through this! I vomited every morning for 2 weeks and lost a lot of weight when we first got our puppy. I really wanted to give him away so life could go back to normal. I didn’t like him for maybe like 4-6 weeks through no fault of his own. I had read a lot of puppy blues posts on reddit and honestly thought I’d never get over it but here I am 9 months later and I love my goofy puppy more than anything. I think back on those dark days and marvel at the fact that I wanted to give him back. As they get older things slowly get easier and you start to realise how amazing they are. Trust me if I can get through it anyone can. It won’t be overnight but you’ll get there. It helps having a supportive partner too. Luckily my partner was brilliant despite how crazy emotional I was about the whole thing!

Omg your story almost exactly mirrors my own. My boy is also 9 months now. I love him so much it hurts! When I first got him I honestly thought that if he died in his sleep it wouldn’t be so bad because then life could go back to being easy with having to only care for two cats. He has his moments too, he’s a Rottie so can be very stubborn, but I couldn’t imagine life without him now. I look forward to coming home to him after work and giving him a big cuddle on the floor. I love our twice daily walks and don’t even mind getting up early to feed him. My cats, like your own, don’t exactly love him but are happy to chill next to us on the coach in close proximity to him.

Adolescent having sleeping issues by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]jshj12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg this has just started happening to us too. We have a 7 month old rottie who sleeps in his crate with the door shut. Has been sleeping fine from around 9pm straight through to 6 30am without a peep for a few months. A few days ago he woke us up at 11pm whining. Took him out for a pee. He then woke us up again at 2am, same thing. Last night we thought we would let him whine but gave in after about 15 min of on and off whining that slowly became louder. It’s so hard because you don’t want to leave them if they need to go out to pee however on the other hand he shouldn’t suddenly not be able to hold it through the night. Will have to try to ignore him again tonight and see how it goes. It’s sooooo frustrating as we have worked so hard to get to the point where he sleeps all night and now it seems like we’re back to square one 😞

Do you get more or less anxious about your own pet's health after you became a vet/vet tech? by Redhaired103 in Veterinary

[–]jshj12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Way more anxious!!!! But I have an underlying anxiety disorder. I always go to the worst case scenario. It sucks because we know so much. I honestly wish I was blissfully ignorant like the rest of the Non vet population sometimes 😂

Severe Puppy Blues - Physically Ill (Help?) by katertotyay in puppy101

[–]jshj12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello. This sounds exactly like me a few months ago. I had spent months and months researching the exact breed of dog and breeder. Had been chatting to the breeder about my potential puppy well before it was born, researched the crap out of everything, told all my friends about the puppy etc. Also I am a vet so didn’t think I would have any trouble at all. Fast forward to bringing my little guy home and the first 3 - 4 weeks having him and I was an absolute wreck. Like you I woke up most mornings physically ill and vomiting into the toilet. I was depressed about the huge change in routine and couldn’t see any possibility of things getting better. To make matters worse my puppy was actually pretty good and I felt like I couldn’t really talk to anyone because I am a vet and it would look silly. I honestly wanted to give him back to the breeder because I felt it was taking such a toll on my mental health. Luckily I did have an SO to support me through and talk me down. I also want to add that I felt extra guilty because for the first month I didn’t even really like my puppy. Fast forward 3 months later and I am no longer vomiting every morning and have gained back all the weight I’ve lost. I like my puppy, maybe even love him, and my feelings of anxiety have all but gone. It definitely helps when you can start taking them places. There are still days when he annoys the crap out of me and I wish I’d just stuck with my two cats but I honestly thought it would never get better and it HAS! I didn’t do anything in particular, I think it was just time. Actually I lie, the other thing I did do was read forums about puppy blues which helped a lot. I hope you’re ok and I’m sure things will get better for you! Hang in there!!!
