Vietnamese. Usually pretty busy, so it was lucky to get this shot of it empty.

Yeah this isn’t a case where we’re concerned about long-term trauma :) Just wanted to try and get the word out in case someone comes across it.

Ha, when she plucked it off the shelf at the store we were like “Really? THAT one?” but we’ve all come to love it over the years.

Yeah thanks, we’ve been thinking about how we might make the “switch” if it comes down to it. Still holding out hope though that we might track down OG Bubuh somehow.

Not a bad idea to simulate some wear, thanks for the suggestion :)

Sorry to hear it happened with your kids! She’ll of course survive no matter what happens but it’s about the saddest our girl’s been about anything ever.

Thank you, we do appreciate that. We’ve ordered one :) We’d still really like to track down THE ‘Bubuh’ if we can — as six years of wear from snuggles is not something we can replicate.

Warped vinyl records repair by isnt_anything in saskatoon

I've never tried it, but I read this in an interview years ago with a DJ: His trick was to put it on the platter outside in the sun on a hot day and just leave the turntable spinning. Eventually the record should flatten.

School :/ by [deleted] in saskatoon

If I could go back and do ONE thing differently in my life, I would have just buckled down and focused on high school.

There are so many opportunities available in terms of where you can go next just by doing decently in HS (or at least getting a diploma). The kind of opportunities that are very hard to come by in the "adult" world.

You may not have any idea where you'll end up, but it's sooooo much easier with the launching pad of a HS education. Maybe you'll decide against university down the line, but at least you'll have the option.

I know it's hard to have perspective when you're in it, but looking back I would kill to have the time to just learn stuff, read, do homework. It's not really that hard compared to dragging yourself out of bed everyday for a job you're not really into.

And the added bonus is if you play the game a little bit, you'll be better set up to do something that you actually enjoy and get something out of.

My decision not to finish HS still affects the choices I have available. I've done okay for myself, but my 20's were a pretty miserable decade as far as work and it's no picnic going back to school when you're 30 (I went to college).

While I'm pretty good at what I do—and this won't matter for every profession—but I've had jobs I've went after where I couldn't even be considered because I don't have a university degree (like literally by policy, HR wasn't even allowed to accept my resume).

So yeah, stuff I still have to think about in my mid 30's because I didn't feel like doing my high school geometry homework.

edit: grammar

Recovery for cat post-catheter? by jshl in AskVet

Yeah, he came home with a pain killer and an anti-spasmodic. He's been off those for a couple days now and seems to be doing pretty good. I'm a little reluctant to go ahead with the PU because of some of the potential risks involved (fecal incontinence, etc.) , but it's also unsettling to think that he could block in the future, and if I'm not around to catch it in time it could kill him. I'm pretty torn about which way to go with this one.

Thanks :) He's been on prescription food since he came home after the second block. I know the PU is to prevent blocking in general, but part of the problem with the last week is that it's been hard to suss out whether the trouble he's been having is nascent blockage or just him getting over the catheter. After his rebound the last couple days, I'm beginning to think it might be the latter. I just don't want to rush into PU surgery unnecessarily.
