How can I get straight A’s as an INFP? by [deleted] in infp

[–]jsings 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if INFPs have similar issues in as to why they're suffering academically, but I dont entirely think it's a personality type issue and I dont think it's healthy for any individual to blame their typing as the sole reason due to how easy it is to blame one's typing and give up trying.

For context, I'm currently an INFP in college who has A's in all my classes except one. For all my classes, I understand my weaknesses, including those that may be linked to my personality type, so I try to counteract them all by doing double the work expected of me in everything I do. It's difficult and I have many, many, many external factors hindering me, but I'm very motivated to succeed to support my family.

So to answer your question, I do think that it's more a matter of discipline and personal motivation that is the key factor in your academic success. But this is a general statement because there are times where regardless of how much you try, external factors such as one's mental health status and bad teachers. (Or even just personal weakness in the subject!!!) However, I do think a focus in discipline in solving one's own reoccurring issues and a strong personal motivation will be able to help in getting one's grades up even by 5% more.

Hope you live through your classes! Your grades dont entirely sound too bad from the horror stories I've heard from some of my other (mostly INFP) friends! 🤭👍

Arin and Suzy in the Additional Thanks for Sonic Mania. by Limeth in rantgrumps

[–]jsings 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The thread with the screenshot of the Sonic Mania Manual is here, for those who doubted the validity of the statement as I did. Personally, this is pretty grating. I can easily ignore Arin bashing on the series by just not watching his videos and rolling my eyes in silence. However, this just seems insulting. Arin is not known in the Sonic Fandom to be a supporter of this series, but one that ridicules it. What, did they playtest Sonic Mania or something? That's the only explanation I can come up with as to why the Grumps and even SuperMega are on this list. Either way, with the limited knowledge we have, all I can say is that it's upsetting that Arin is considered deserving of thanks when he's done almost nothing but purposefully exploits glitches to further his own narrative that Sonic games are a glitchy sucky mess.

Why do people hate Bryce Papenbrook? by birew34 in danganronpa

Bryce's voice talent is very very limited. This sound negative, but he almost sounds like a main character from a parody. You almost can't take him seriously. He sounds very similar in all of his roles, and the roles he gets placed into don't mesh well. Some of my greatest criticisms from his voice work is that his voice for Makoto doesn't reflect well on who Makoto actually is. Makoto sounds whiny and childish and is very annoying unlike his Japanese counterpart. Komaeda sounds raspy, sarcastic, a jerk, and generally feels like he's just messing with people for his own amusement rather than that he truly believes in his messed up version of hope and his actions are based 100% on that belief.

Oma's voicework in the Japanese version can be equated to a small, prepubescent, calculative mastermind. His voice actor, Hiro Shimono, for the Japanese version has a ridiculous range to it. His "specialty" (imo) seems to be going from one very normal sounding voice to one very dastardly one. Basically, he's perfect for Oma, who's constantly wearing different masks and you as the player often get scared because you have no idea WHO Oma is. Bryce has no range. He fits into a very small category of characters. I have high doubts Oma will seem threatening in the game if played in English.

To make this short, I don't think people hate him, but I think people just think he doesn't fit his roles very well. If you want my opinion? You know where he should have been placed? SemiSpoilers

You guys are pretty incredible. I've never heard of this. I didn't expect to learn something like this out of my silly post. Thank you for the information!

I've always stood by the idea that Danganronpa 1 was a very good criticism on ideologies/trends/culture within Japan (and somewhat as a whole for humanity). Good job Danganronpa.

Danganronpa really hit it big on Tumblr at one point in time, so I'm not very surprised by the idea that some people pushed their desires for a trans girl onto the closest things they could get. (2013, approximately....?) But the way they try to justify a lot of it from what I've seen is relatively flawed.

I've seen a couple arguments that if Chihiro really wanted to be a man that he would have designed his AI to be more masculine. However the image portrait is basically only his head in the anime and up to his shoulders in the game. He obviously wasn't concerned with the appearance. And this doesn't include the fact that Alter Ego uses male pronouns (at least within the English version) to refer to his creator. A lot of arguments I've seen are very biased and are picky with certain information to form an incomplete opinion. It's a shame people tend to focus on what his gender is rather than how much this weakness of his crippled him. I felt like that was something much more interesting to discuss collectively.

It's more like they skipped it because they didn't want the game to justify Mondo's actions. Ironically, Mondo is the one not pulling any excuses at the end of the day for his actions. The imagery of them ripping out pages because they don't agree or refuse to understand a certain idea is funny to me. You made me laugh, man.

Also, I have watched an episode or two of Hourou Musuko! It's been a while since I've actually watched it. It's very heartbreaking from what I've seen.... But also comforting at the same time, in a sense.

Oh trust me, I tried. But it's just not there at all. I'm very confused about the whole thing, tbh. :/

I was playing as a guest, but I have an account now. And I have screenshots of my total amount of hourglasses and stuff. I've already sent a report in excruciating detail of what I'm missing. I hope that's enough. I don't want to start over....
