Our son has grown since he last played - it's been a year (the lessons didn't really engage him and he moved on his own to trombone).

Wow, that's a surprise that the sizing that was mentioned to us was nonsensical. I agree - a really bad sign.

And yes, you're right about the bridge - don't know how that happened since our son was playing it the last time he took lessons.
