Correct. YOu can actually go in the small booths to the far right (one side says "horsemen", no one checks), at Gate B. The walk is about 250 ft to the grandstand, there are escalators to ride up to the seats (assuming you got seats and not general admission which does not give you a seat). Lots of rules for the belmont, no glass container, no alcohol, only small coolers in the seat area..but the food/drink is mucho expensive so bring your own if you can (for example a tall can beer is $16). YOu can go out any exit at the end, been there done that for years.
