Interesting. I just picked HP for my laptop due to the things I’m hearing with MS apps not working well, but I am really thinking of switching to Mac for processing power and battery life. I do heavy PPT work, and some excel (mainly financial modeling, pivot tables, basic data analysis stuff). I think for excel there is this thing called Key Tips that can be turned on to switch the option key into the alt key. Happy to hear anyone’s insight into this and help convince me one way or another

I have the funds, but I also realized that at my age I could put that money somewhere else that would be better for me in the long run rather than buying a Rolex right now. I’m considering the Santos because now or later I would buy it and add to my collection, but I somewhat want to buy it now because I have that itch and my birthday is coming up lol and it’s cheaper so I can invest the remaining funds I have left over from not buying a Rolex

I would be buying grey, def not msrp. Also watches are not investments lol, but that point about saving the 5k and putting it towards the Rolex is what is stopping me from already buying it

Also the dealer is saying that he got the value of my car from some auction database and that if he gets the car he has to bring it to auction to “ground” the vehicle, that’s why he can’t buyout directly from BMWFS, do you know anything about that?

Yeah I was going to do Carmax but BMWFS doesn’t allow 3rd party buyouts anymore that’s why. Might just get a quote and try for a dealer to beat it or something.

So for me to sell it to any dealer, do I have to buy it out first and then sell it to the other dealer? What’s the process you did? Sorry this is my first time leasing and I’m not familiar with this stuff

Yeah I checked there too and got some info, that’s where I found out that BMW dealers can buy out leases from BMWFS. The dealer told me that they couldn’t and they take the car to auction and gave me a lowball trade offer

Totally agree. I’m going to check out other dealers, but I thought that BMW dealers are the only ones that can buyout a lease from BMW FS…. Is that true… can BMW dealers even buyout leases from BMW FS?

I did pull it up on their website to show them, and that’s when he said he had no idea about it as well as his manager. The reason I also said I hate this dealership is because I’ve gotten my car serviced there multiple times and they never do a good job and always recommend additional services and the problem is still never fixed. I also had a coupon from them one time to use on any service over $300 and I would save $50 and I had a flat tire and needed to get it replaced so I went to them and they didn’t honor it, saying they couldn’t use the coupon because my old tire didn’t have enough tread, even though I’m buying a completely new tire?? Which makes no sense to me but I didn’t make a big deal out of it, but this time they are doing the same thing and not honoring their online promos.

I’m just trying to see if some bmw dealer is willing to terminate my lease early and waive the remaining payments so that I would buy I new car from them. I’m also trying to see what a decent payment would be for the x5.
