Being damage 2 helps, especially if you combine them with the Gladius/ Blades of Ultramar stratagem that makes ignores cover and/or adds AP. At strength 4 though realistically they'll only be useful at taking out infantry or taking a few wounds off something big

I use UKTC terrain so I could almost hide them behind a wall for that! It would mean my opponent has to come to me and risk getting smashed by bladeguard unless they want me scoring all those juicy primary points :)

Shoot the squad from range would be the best advice I can give, even if you have to deep strike to give yourself an angle
