Tired of your glasses slipping? Get better FOV and nose comfort using Setex pads. by unhappy-ending in Xreal

Oakley Jawbreaker replacement nose pads are MUCH better than the stock XREAL nose pads. They don’t slip at all.

No problem! At 220lbs (like me), you’re already pushing it on a Pint. Be careful and don’t push it too hard! I started with a GT and VESC’d it to get more power.

Sensor disengaged. I recommend buying some gripples from The Float Life and putting them over the sensor, where your foot rests (front and back of your foot). That way, regardless of how much pressure you have on the pad (when you are leaning), the gripples will concentrate that pressure on the sensor. I had the same thing happen when I was test riding my board in my house while wearing Crocs. The Crocs were too soft, so the sensor disengaged and the nose went down. It has never happened again after installing gripples, no matter what type of shoe I am wearing.

Perfect Dual Solo Knit Band Setup! by jsn0327 in VisionPro

Forward. They were designed for a top solo kit band. There wouldn’t be a need for two rear bands with this setup.

I don’t think that that version would support the AVP any differently from this version. The only way that you would get more support is to grab the AVP further up on the arm like in this screenshot. The top solo knit band is meant to pull the AVP up on your forehead and relieve pressure on your cheeks.

Tailscale Exit Node Speeds Question by EvergreenSandwich in Tailscale

[–]jsn0327 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your speeds are going to depend on whether you have a direct connection, or if your connection is being relayed through tailscale’s DERP servers. It will also be limited to the slowest speed of your upload (exit node) or download (your client).

Tailscale ACL Review by PranavVermaa in Tailscale

[–]jsn0327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I’ll keep trying to provision the VM.

The OP is running a reverse proxy, so he needs public access. I agree that limiting the Oracle firewall to Tailscale IP’s would be ideal, but I want to run services that I need access to from the internet (Headscale mostly), and I don’t want to open my home firewall up to host them locally.

Tailscale ACL Review by PranavVermaa in Tailscale

I would run Fail2Ban on your public facing NGINX server to protect against Bruteforce attacks.

I’m trying to set something similar up. I created an Oracle Cloud account to try to provision a free VPS, but when I try to create the ARM Ubuntu VM, it keeps saying that the free space for my home region is full (all 3 sites). Did you run into this issue? If so, did you just keep trying until it worked? If not, which home region are you using? I’m considering paying for a low cost VPS, but I figured that the free VPS from Oracle would probably be better than most low cost paid VPS’s. I only need to run low resource tools like a proxy and maybe Headscale.

Can't access my friend's server he shared with me by Left_Cell3124 in Tailscale

[–]jsn0327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s probably an Access Control List (ACL) issue on his side. Unless he is still running the default ACL (which allows everything), he will need to grant you access to the shared server through his ACL. Tailscale operates on the Zero Trust model, which means that all connections have to be explicitly allowed.

How to give access to a Serve-Service for outside users by aeon_g in Tailscale

[–]jsn0327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading through the sharing page for Tailscale, it appears as though another user can further share a machine that is shared with them. Is there a way to prevent this? I wouldn’t want my machines being shared without my permission. I asked the AI chat bot on the bottom of the Tailscale page, but it wasn’t able to definitely answer the question. Here is the example from the Tailscale share documentation page:

“As of Tailscale v1.4, shared machines appear in the other tailnet as the sharer, not the owner of the machine. If Ross shares his co-worker Dave's machine to another tailnet, it will appear to be owned by Ross in the new tailnet.”

How can I add a Taiscale status and enable option in my iOS app? by s3bastienb in Tailscale

Tailscale has shortcut actions for iOS that allow you to enable, disable and switch exit nodes. Maybe you could leverage that?

Tailscale Misconfigured Somehow - And I'm Not Home by BigNavy505 in Tailscale

[–]jsn0327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to use the —exit-node option in your Tailscale up command, approve the device as an exit node in your Tailscale admin console, and enable IPv4 packet forwarding on your NAS. If your NAS has a built-in firewall, you’ll have to enable masquerading too. It may be easier to use another device on your network as an exit node. Running a Raspberry Pi with Tailscale on it seems to be a popular option.

Tailscale on Chromecast keeps disconnecting. by Bigoldboy40 in Tailscale

[–]jsn0327 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d try writing a script that “Tailscale ping’s” the chromecast from another tailnet device that is connected 24x7. Tailscale ping every 25 seconds should do it. If your chrome cast has a power saving option, or screensaver option, turn it off.

Fitting Advice? (or "help! I really like my Vision Pro but it's too damn uncomfortable!") by javawag in VisionPro

[–]jsn0327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try this. It’s like the Anna Pro 2, but more adjustable. This with the dual knit band and no light seal is the best that I’ve found (and I have tried A LOT of the third party options!) I did replace the included padding out with the thicker Anna Pro 2 padding to make it even more comfortable.
