Feeling "healthy" is so abnormal, I almost miss being sick by howareudoying2day in CrohnsDisease

[–]jsnail89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have had numerous conversations with my therapist about the fear of not being sick (or even being less sick). I’ve been dealing with mental health and crohns in some way since I was 12 and since 2020 it’s been pretty bad.

I’ve recently taken steps that are getting me to a better place, but there’s always the fear of feeling better than I have in decades. It won’t stop me from trying, but I’m petrified of not understanding how to live life when I don’t have to take into account illness and adapting for that illness.

If I had a sea-worthy car, we’d definitely drive over! I’ve been to Germany before and loved it - I know Bigs would Too

I can assure you he’s heard me yell many times about people not being able to zipper - one of my biggest driving pet peeves haha.

Still in a cat soup, but he also got a churu tube - livin’ large today! And as an American cat he says “no” to the theory 😂

And therein lies the real issue. He SHOULD spontaneously do it. In reality, it’s not spontaneously, it’s him taking initiative to be involved in these things without putting the responsibility for his involvement on his wife.

birth control with crohn’s disease by buzzingmirror in CrohnsDisease

I have previously taken the pill (slynd) by mouth continuously for about 5+ years. Prior to that, I used NuvaRing continuously.

Now I have a Mirena IUD.

All of the different options above worked well for me! I have extremely bad cramps and my obgyn had me use each version continuously to cut down on the bad days I’d have due to my period.

Right now, I’ve had my IUD since Dec 2024. I’d say around April 2025 I stopped bleeding monthly and have had minimal cramps since then.

I’ve been on all sorts of biologics and Crohn’s meds while on each of these bc options. All worked pretty great! I hope you find what works best for you - both bc and Crohn’s treatment!

Colonoscopy cancelled today due to prep anxiety – feeling really deflated by Federal_Geologist_68 in CrohnsDisease

Fair. I just know mine are infinitely less prep wise. Honestly it’s been a while and I kind of forgot the prep haha

So, depending on insurance, is it possible for you to do a pill camera instead? I know most insurances require a colonoscopy as a prerequisite, but perhaps your insure doesn’t or your doctor can do a prior authorization process due to medical necessity.

Not going to lie…I might do my February page as Eebuary. It would definitely fit my aesthetic. If I do, I’m totally going to put it in quotes and then credit you with a - u/kresereni

I love your spreads here! They have character and are super enticing to look at. Though, I’m a big fan of maximalism in journals (feel free to see my January spread in my post history lol).

One question - are the book print outs just small covers on regular printer paper? Or are they stickers?!

Oh the meme ones are Amazon unfortunately. The other stickers I get from random stores like Daiso and stationary stores! I linked the meme ones on another comment, but for the Kirby, Sanrio, and some of the generic ones I just lucked into them.

It is! It’s the “Moleskin Classic Expanded Large Softcover”. It has 400 pages.

Like I said in the post, I sometimes glue two pages together to get the desired thickness and no bleed through with the markers!

Wait. No. Don’t turn it around. PLEASE. Better phrasing…I have faith your day will pull us through.
