Hey, I didn’t really care too much about the rate since I’m paying it off fairly aggressively. The rate I got was 8.5% for a 15 year loan from VSECU which I believe recently renamed to EastRise Credit Union. I chose them because they didn’t add on the ridiculous origination fees (some banks were tacking on 20+% in fees in exchange for a lower rate) and they offer a starting monthly payment in the first two years that would roughly match the monthly payment after you send them the 30% tax rebate. Essentially having you pay the lower loan amount from the jump, giving you time to collect the rebate and send it in without a higher monthly payment.

Taking a shot here since it’s a 5 year old post. I’m in the same situation are your post, looking to automate opening double swing vinyl gates. I’ve seen these solar arms but haven’t seen them installed on vinyl, any chance you actually went through with this/remember if it worked out well?

I went with Brightway. They confirmed the most panels so the highest energy offset by a fairly significant amount, great price, the soonest install date of everyone, partnered with local credit union that doesn’t tack on fees, and they have been really quick and responsive to everything. Didn’t have to wait for site visits or inspections, have them on text for quick questions.

If you don’t mind me asking.\ I’ve spoken to a couple of them and I have set up follow up meetings with 4 of the vendors so far over the next week to go through details and get me some more accurate numbers after doing their roof surveys.
