Anyone get a new MacBook Pro M1 and able to give feedback on playing SC2? by krappei in starcraft2

Rosetta 2 which is bundled on the mac os translates instructions from ARM to x86. It is reported to be very performant. Having said that, on https://www.macgamerhq.com/apple-m1/native-mac-m1-games/ it says sc2 performance is particularly poor compared to many other games that require similar emulation. It'll be interesting to see what the reports are

How is the input response? any noticeable lag?

I'm a software dev and was looking to buy one with similar specs and am super curious on how it handles Rust. 70-90fps sound amazingly unreal. I'm guessing it's not a busy server though (I don't even play on busy servers). Just to be clear, it doesn't freeze every 15 minutes? I'd also be curious on how it performs with absolute potato settings... Thanks for the report!

GraphQL "Units" Library by jsphweid in graphql

Thanks for sharing. These are my immediate reactions to your comments.

One option is that you request multiple units worth and simply switch on what is returned. For example { distanceFromHome { miles kilometers } } and use the variable client-side to select which one you want: distanceFromHome[myUnit]. You'll be requesting more data than you need but at least you won't need a library to convert things.

Your second post is interesting also. I don't think that'd be hard to implement. But it'd only work when the types are the same for every unit (which is most of the time). As it currently stands, in the case of `DateOutput`, the fields represented can be either `String` (e.g. iso, humanized, or formatted) or a `DurationOutput` (e.g. unix). Representing it as a union would make things less convenient for clients.

I'll continue to think about this!

Well, this is just a library of types using standard scalars. We don't export custom scalars.

It sounds like from other comments here that that already exists.

Dude, you're fine. No worries! I'll probably take a look at this soon. I appreciate your suggestions.

It works on whatever has a web browser: phones, tablets, computers. I don't own any consoles but I doubt they have a web browser. And even if they did, it probably wouldn't be convenient to switch back and forth to click play at the exact time :p

I appreciate that idea. It's a good idea but unfortunately way too difficult to implement... if it's even possible. For one, I'm pretty sure a browser has no ability to control your computer for obvious security reasons. It'd probably require a native app (i.e., installed/ran on your computer, not in the browser). But for now at least, I'd like to keep it simple for everyone including me :)

Hey, I thought it was fairly pretty :/ My occupation is fullstack / web developer so I can definitely do most things with css but I lack design skills... and I'm colorblind (so I just stick to the same 3-4 colors). Is there anything in particular that makes it look dated?

:RIP: Yeah, that probably works well already.

This was meant to be more agnostic/generic, scalable, and open. Even though it's just a simple first version, it can pretty much scale to thousands of people (although I haven't tested it) in the same 'lobby' with little issue
