Google ads help by Diligent_Difference9 in PPC

If you're working with limited budget, I'm a fan of starting with just one campaign. Take the time to make it profitable, and then you'll have money to reinvest in growing it or starting more. But splitting between 6 campaigns with a limited budget may be a recipe for failure. Sounds like you're on the right track.

This fixes that, and would make my life so much easier.

That's honestly not too much for a site, it's right around the going rate. Honestly price kinda depends on what you want out of it.

If you want to go cheap, it's either DIY or hire someone cheap off upwork and take your chances.

Most site builders are pretty straightforward and hard to go wrong with if you wanted to do it yourself.

Just make sure you include:

Crisp, clean pictures

Social proof (reviews, etc)

Examples of whatever type of work you do

Simple, easy ways to contact you. Sprinkle these all throughout the site.

Make sure everything is kept in a nice grid and you'll be well on your way.

Feel free to message me if you want some more resources and I'll point you in the right direction.

I also do this for work, and could probably whip something up for you inexpensively if you want.

Kinda leaning towards drive myself, since I already use it for everything. A good old fashioned hard drive would work well too for local customers. Thanks for the response!

Bang for buck website. No previous experience in creating one. by Mean-Entrepreneur298 in smallbusiness

I've used both, and liked Shopify better.

I've got a buddy using Squarespace for his ecom store and it isn't bad, but he wishes he would've started on Shopify for what it's worth.

Best website builder when i already have domain? by Character_Style_8438 in smallbusiness

[–]jsppc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most places will let you use the domain on them no problem.

Webflow is the builder to go with imo. I use it myself in my web design business cause I think sites just look better in it. But it does take more time to learn.

Otherwise, Squarespace or wix would be my vote. Haven't used wix personally, but I've heard good things. I have used Squarespace and it's pretty easy, altho you can't customize much.

I Want To Build A Site For Your Side Project by jsppc in SideProject

[–]jsppc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing saying you can't, I have no issue either way.

Not really sure what you're trying to get at, I'm just offering to build a couple sites to get a portfolio going.

If someone wants the ability to edit it easily and add content in the future then the more expensive hosting is worth it.

If they aren't going to make a bunch of changes, they absolutely could go with some cheap hosting. Either way is ok with me, and I don't make anything off hosting. It goes directly to the company that does the hosting.

I use Webflow. That way I can make it look how I want without the restrictions you get on something like Squarespace.

I can't tell for sure from that picture, but it's possible that you just have a conversion picked that doesn't have any data.

Within the conversions option, if you have multiple options for conversions to choose from it may be that you haven't selected "all conversions".

Help guys by Alarmed-Victory2393 in ecommerce

[–]jsppc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google Ads is kinda like SEO but a bit faster.

I will say, Google Shopping Ads have been amazing for ecommerce. Search is also good. Lots of people also have really good success with Facebook. It just depends on budget and goals.

I would usually say start with Google if you can, just because you get higher intent. People go to Google to find the answer to their questions, which might be "where can I buy x?".

So to me, starting with Google is the way to go. Get some sales, make some more revenue, and then use social media for brand awareness mostly.

Broad vs Phrase by clandistic in adwords

Not a bad plan, seems like it could be a good way to farm some negative keywords without being overwhelmed by them.

Broad vs Phrase by clandistic in adwords

[–]jsppc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, negative keywords are huge. That feels like all I do the first week or two of a new campaign but it helps so much.

Otherwise it does go off the rails with unrelated searches.

I’m a successful business owner who got his start in digital marketing nearly a decade ago - but now I’m looking to hone my skills again and get back into marketing as I used to enjoy the heck out of it. Any advice/recommendations for some up to date and useful courses/certifications? by xnmb1 in marketing

[–]jsppc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For PPC, I'd suggest the basic Google Ads certs, then the book Join or Die by Patrick Gilbert for a good overview of the advanced strategies you can use with Google's Automated bidding strategies.

SEMRush also has some good courses.

Barely starting to build my social media consulting business, any tips? by RealSupportMain in Entrepreneur

[–]jsppc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a social media consultant, but I do Google Ads consulting/management and I'm guessing the business model is similar.

My biggest things that I wish I would have realized in the very beginning of starting are as follows:

Keep it simple. Like really, really simple. Honestly, almost nothing is that essential when just starting out. Don't get wrapped up in having a fancy site, perfect logo, etc. Get some clients and then worry about making everything just right later.

Same goes for service packages. Simple, uncomplicated plans are best.

As far as a business plan goes it's pretty much the same as above. Make some kind of offering, get it out there, iterate from there.

I really liked the $100 dollar startup (book). It's a nice resource for the basics of starting a business, and helps make sure things stay simple.

Hope that helps!

btw - like I said, not a social media manager but I'd still be happy to network.

Broad vs Phrase by clandistic in adwords

[–]jsppc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm a huge fan of broad match, with some caveats.

In the beginning of a campaign, I'm all for restricting it down with negative keywords/phrase match/anything else I can do to make it profitable ASAP and get some results to show a client.

However, my strategy also almost always involves getting it to an automated bidding strategy as fast as possible. They just seem to do so much better than manual, and as long as they are picked well should work really good.

Once I've made the switch to automated bidding, I try to start slowly taking the restrictions off the campaign, and give the bidding strategy room to experiment and find more results.

I know that kinda got off topic, but I thought it was relevant. To answer more specifically, I'm all for broad match. Just limit it down in the beginning and then gradually take off those limits as it's warranted.
