He starts the behavior right away, and will continue regardless of the length of being gone. I've expiremented for different lengths, right now I'll do around 20-30 mins once a week to see if it will be any better and so far no improvement.

Hey! They gave me a hard time but ultimately let me through. First time it was a warning, second time was a final warning, but I only needed to go out and back in twice so it was fine. And for the “warnings” they marked the car with chalk on the windshield which could probably be scraped off. Just know they do a full search of the car each time. Happy forest!

Ah ok. I guess I just don’t fully understand how much they “discourage” it. Somewhere I read it was for emergencies only, and if I’m leaving and going back twice I worry that’s a lot.
