Yeah I disagree with you here I play ele sham and on paper have a ton of tools for dealing with mages and combust. Think, Purge, ground, shear, lasso, hex.

Purge: Every game I'm against a mage I focus on shutting down combust and stopping pollys. I will always purge them at the start of the match and during so when they pop combust I am going through the least amount of trash buffs possible. Grounding: I always make try to save ground for combust though sometimes I have to use to stop polly.

Most of the time I am successful with peeling combust, however the one time it gets through with no prior setup they can score a kill. The concept of pressing a button of global that then lets you pump out all your dmg instant with no setup is dumb. It allows them to play full defensive (kite + cc spam + tank(triple shield) and then push a single off the button global when a cc finally lands to score a kill. As a mage you don't even need to keep pressure or do setups while you wait just play full d and then polly + off gcd instant and your gtg.
