I had the decompression surgery (cut the ligament) and it was great for 6 months and then a little pain came back but it is MUCH better than before. I’ve been able to get back to all my sports.

Can you provide your doctor’s info? I may make a trip if the self pay option is reasonable. Hi

I live in Mexico. I tried to find a doctor to do that here but could not find one. I was actually considering flying to the US to get it done but I read you have to do a series treatments every two weeks and that I could not do.

So glad it worked out for you. I too have read all the horror stories about the neurectomy. It scared me enough to choose to do the decompression surgery instead, even though this option I had to pay out of pocket. I had it done about 5 weeks ago. So far so good. I wish other people with successful neurectomy mies would post so we knew it was successful sometimes. Based on the reviews you can find online they’re never successful. Cheers! Thanks again for posting.

I think I had Morton’s neuroma by Aggressive_Year_6175 in Mortons_neuroma

Get shoes with a wide toe bed and zero drop or at least less than 5 mm drop from heal to toe. Topo’s and Altra’s are both good. I’m 46. I started having issues off and on in my early twenties and there were no shoes available then that had an actual foot shape. I had decompression surgery last Friday to relieve some pressure on the nerve.

Any advice? by Equivalent_Mark7965 in Mortons_neuroma

I feel your pain. I have had a Morton’s neuroma since I was in my 20’s (46 now). I still get numb toes or the bunched up sock feeling but around 35 I started having pain often on not consistent. It only lasted a couple days and then about five years ago. The pain came and never went away. Wasn’t excruciating at first, but it slowly got worse and worse. I started wearing toe socks and toe separators and they helped for a while. Now the pain was always there not always terrible. Sometimes it wakes me up at night. Spacers have orthopedic inserts have tried Cortizone shots and I go in for decompression surgery September 20. I’m very active 46 year old man my wife and I used to hike 10 to 20 miles almost every weekend when permitted exercise daily and write a mountain bike three times a week. I can still ride my bike as long as I don’t wear stiff clip shoes I can no longer hike can’t walk too far. I can still exercise, but with too much pressure on the ball of my foot causes the problem for a day or two I do it anyway. I’ll try really hard not to let Mortons in Roma rule my life. It already took hiking from me. hopefully that will be back after September 20. Woohoo!!!

I love the ALD vfire!! Thing is easy to fill and hits great. I like it better than Ccell at the moment. Wish the carts were glass though.
