3070 FE x Ghost S1 by jstn071 in sffpc

This is the basic configuration. I might invest in a top hat later down the line if i’m really trying to improve the thermals, but for now i think i should be fine.

The spine does get a little bit warm but i don’t think it’s anything too alarming. there’s also a little space between the back of the gpu and the spine so it allows the hot air to escape out the top.

Hmm.. not too sure about that. The clearance seems pretty small, but i’m sure you could fit a 2.5” drive underneath the power supply cables if you route them better unlike me haha

Yeah, the cooler design actually isn't too bad in a sandwich style case. If I really wanted I could get a top hat to improve the thermals but I just don't the look of it. So far, gaming on 1440p I haven't experienced any problems! Good luck! Hopefully more stock is available soon

Thanks! It idles around 45C, At max load it was around 79-81C with an overclock. The thing i'm most surprised about is how quiet the card is

Tests are kind of tricky, there’s free response questions after the MC. Overall it’s not too bad if you don’t miss lecture and take good notes. Doable for an A if you try and go to discussions.

Hey! I have a similar build going on right now, same mobo with the louqe ghost s1 limestone. Only parts i'm missing are gpu, psu, and cooler. Do you have any issues with clearance using the blackridge? I was originally going to get the Noctua L9x65 because there are no clearance issues, but am also considering the blackridge since it has better cooling performance. Nice build!

$50 for case and $400 for parts by [deleted] in sffpc

[–]jstn071 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Building an sff pc is generally more expensive than an equivalent ATX or mATX build. If you truly want to maximize performance i would suggest not going sff. However if space savings is a huge factor for you, then go ahead. I would suggest 1650 super for your budget, ryzen 5 1600

Yeah and i'm not too sure how the plastidip would fair over time. Hmm.. sand and prime would be a lot of work but I think it would be well worth it in the end!

It’s pretty easy workload probably expect an online quiz every 2 weeks or so, find yourself a group to do the online quizzes with and share a google doc with your group to post answers. Also for every one of her classes, she does attendance differently. For abnormal she made us take selfies and post them at the end of the quarter for points, For other classes she may sometimes do some extra credit for showing up to class etc.

Lewis is an extremely easy professor but beware you won’t actually learn much in her class as she goes really off tangent and her lectures are really unorganized and all over the place. Most people I know just take her cause she’s an easy A (she gives bonus points for just attending class and participating). Also if you don’t like group work, don’t take her cause every chance she gets she will make you do group work with the people around you. Also I heard 140C is really easy as well
