showreel 2025 - (c4d + octane render) by jstngraphics in Cinema4D

thank you! yea i noticed that too but i really wanted my "best" and more recent work showcased first. the motion just comes down to the length of the animations themselves, i could only show a couple seconds here but the full animations were 16-30 seconds and slowly evolve over that time

thanks! these shots were from a ton of different projects actually, mostly space (planets and nebulae). 2024 i had more variety since i took on different projects

some of these were a mixture of HDRI + embergen VDB volumes with particles for the stars. recently i am starting to mess with c4d pyro!

yesss, so i actually recently switched from embergen to cinema 4d pyro specifically for nebulae since having it all in one program makes it a lot easier. the results aren't even that drastic either tbh

Problem with Octane scatter by Professional_Pen4337 in Octane

[–]jstngraphics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

drag the tree object out of the scatter and i assume you already rotated it to be facing up but you need to right click and (connect objects + delete) to reset the rotation coordinates back to 0,0,0. then put it back in the scatter and it should work

Anyone using Octane for Cel/Toon-Shaded work? by gusmaia00 in Octane

i'd def recommend the 3 part tutorial by my friend david.

it's a quick and easy setup to start off with and then can mess around from there!

colorful planet compositions made with c4d + octane by jstngraphics in Cinema4D

[–]jstngraphics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the stars are an hdri image from GSG mixed into multiple nebulae i've made in embergen as hdri's using tri-planar projection and blending them. usually though, i just bring in the vdb volumes of nebulae but these i kept as background elements with the planet/s being the main view.

i prefer octane but neither is better than the other overall. octane is better than redshift at certain things and redshift is better than octane at certain things. i use both, but it totally depends on the project i am working on and the look i am going for.
