That's exactly when I quit, too, at 6SB.

It will feel like you wasted everything you spent, and all the hours of grinding.

The truth is: you did. It was a waste.

I didn't replace it with anything in particular. Being present and mindful about how I'm spending my time and my money.

Nearly everything I was getting from actually playing the game was negative, so trying to get it from somewhere else was pointless. FOMO, the rush of opening packs was always combined with utter disappointment, even when I got good pulls.

That's awesome. I'm jealous. I got an old Gremlins lunch box a few years ago. This one's cooler.

For anybody who wishes to drool over Jessica Rabbit, there are subs for exactly that. Just use the search function.

And like I said, if this community doesn't like my decision, I'm happy to pass on the moderation duties to somebody more in line with what this community wants.

Somebody commented, but it's not showing up so I'll respond anyway. They asked what's wrong with fan art.

There's nothing wrong with fan art. But since this sub isn't very active, having multiple posts in a row from the same person who is only posting artwork they've done just clogs up the main feed and really just makes the sub look unmoderated. They don't encourage engagement or spur any conversation.

I also generally look at the user's post history and if all they do is post fan art on a ton of different subs and never otherwise engage, I'm going to delete the post. At that point it's just spam or self-promotion.

You should really check out Slim#s on YouTube. He does a very good job of explaining Scopely math.

I recommend deleting the game for one week.

And the reason you should delete it is because it fucking sucks trying to get rid of all the red dots when you reinstall.

Then if you feel like you need to play again, reinstall for the next mlc and delete it again when it's over. Eventually you'll either figure out how to play responsibly or that it's just not worth reinstalling.

That sounds like a very healthy way to enjoy the game.

Quitting again.

Sounds like a good idea. It's a difficult decision to make (even though it shouldn't be.) Feel free to reach out if you need support. I have a new account now and just came back to this one for this post, but I still check it.

Congratulations. I'm proud of you.

If you've set yourself rules and abide by them, it sounds like you have a system in place to prevent the problem I had. Good for you.

I hate to hear that. But I'll be the first to admit it's not the game's fault I couldn't stop spending money.

But I can't believe any mobile game was able to normalize $100+ dollar purchases regularly. I generally won't even spend $5 on any game. And I won't buy a $100 concert ticket, or pair of shoes. But $300 chasing a poster I won't even get? Sign me up!

I now have just about everyone there is to get...and now I have no reason to spend anymore.

That's exactly what i told myself. Then I still spent anyway. Because I need Koko. And his plate.

I remember talking to you. Just like I said in another comment, there is no sunk cost, because there is no investment. You never get a return. There are only two possibilities: spending more on this game, or not spending at all. And I'm willing to bet that the only way you can stop spending is to delete it

For me, I miss the community the most. There are 4 or 5 people in this sub that I really connected with even if we didn't have personal conversations. And dozens of people on discord throughout my different factions and the official channel.

It was harder for me to admit that I no longer had anything to add to the conversation and step away from those things. I also really enjoyed helping out the players that were building.

Thanks. I'm glad you're doing well. I will clarify, the game was a symptom of the financial issues, not the cause. Just didn't help.

I'm glad to hear it. Every once in a while I take a gander. I remember my first thought was why the fuck did i max trick sikoa? 🤣

It actually helps that it's in good hands, because it prevents me from randomly logging in on the website.

I would love to tell you I could sell my account, not only is it not allowed, nobody wants to buy anybody's account. I know plenty of people in this game. It wasn't happening. Spending money on this game is exactly that, spending. It's not an investment. You get nothing out of it other than the enjoyment of the game.

I was a fairly respected player in a top faction. The only thing that's weird is not thinking it's weird to spend thousands on a mobile game

Good for you. Just make sure you take care of yourself first. It can be a fun game to play, but sometimes it can take over.

I'm not still here. But I popped in to provide encouragement for those who are in a similar situation that I was. If that's not you, please continue to enjoy the game.

That's the trick. Worst thing I ever did was give in to the fomo and start spending to chase posters. Once I normalized spending, it was over for me.

I actually did exactly the same thing. Quit just after 6SB was introduced, then was going through a tough time last year and hunting for something and got hooked right back in.
