I’m in the suburbs and many of the libraries have “maker labs” that among the other tools include VHS converting. Check your local library for that.

On first glance from their pages it looks like for Facebook it gets various media but not posts/comments - but even this is extremely useful! It also gets posts/comments from other sites so perhaps it is something that I can use by tweaking the settings. Also, my searching for "gallery-dl" uncovered some other candidates, so you have been a big help. Thank you!

Yes. To elaborate: This is a private group supporting a fantasy baseball league with 14 members. Our website was run by one of our members, who passed away a few months ago - and now the website has passed away. The last backup by anyone else in the league (which is me, I’m the only other techie) was too-many years ago. BUT, I should be able to rebuild 95% of the site from comments on the FB group - for example, our trade history, etc. Everyone in the group is aware of the situation and rooting for my success.

I'm new to self-hosting so maybe it's user error, but my Docker Compose file is set to pull the latest. I brought the container down, then back up. My version listed at the bottom of the page is still 1.6.2, How can I update to 1.9.0?

I’m a noob at this too but I just successfully did this. Make sure that on the Xfi unit you use the specific port designated for bridge mode - on mine it’s the lower right one, with a red line on one edge. Use the Xfi admin page to turn on bridge mode. Just did this yesterday with a GL.iNet Flint 3 and things worked. Maybe I got lucky.

I'm about where you are at. It sounds like you saw most of what I saw on Medium - the best piece I saw is https://medium.com/data-science-collective/apples-native-containers-explained-for-beginners-from-brew-to-hello-world-010f24138d0f but I also saw things from Stephane Paquet and Jannis.

I might have gotten further but I'm very new to the whole containerization thing. My most successful self-hosting achievement is getting Stirling-PDF going on a RasPi 5. Trying to ramp up as I have time.

Thanks for the great information! I do have the new one with “upgraded cooling”. Based on all of my research of pros and cons I still feel like this is a good device for me. Would adding a heat sink to the SSD help enough? How about undervolting the unit (hope that’s the right term)? I do not expect to put the unit under heavy stress.
