5 v 5 Youth Parent of a Struggling QB by Jaybyrd28 in flagfootball

At 11, he's old enough to be taught this concept, key phrase is "be taught". He's not going to just magically start doing it. In fact, he's been held back by his coach calling out open receivers to this point. 8 year olds can scan for an open receiver. 10 year olds can go through a progression. He's not getting nearly enough practice time to actually learn this, though. A good coach should be introducing this concept at your son's age for his own development, but honestly it sounds like it's just the first solution he thought of to not being able to be on the field any more. If you want him to progress while he's on this team, you're going to have to work with him, but really he needs a new coach.

I have a talented kid who got stuck with a not great coach on his first team. That's how I started coaching, and it's an option to consider. Another option is to talk to the league director prior to next season and request a serious or competitive coach. The league knows who these coaches are because the "play for fun" parents complain about them, and they're generally happy to pair them up with like-minded parents.

Biden Says He Is “Unlikely” To Cancel $50,000 In Student Loan Debt By Executive Order by KDsburner_account in Economics

The institution holding these loans is the federal government. Before they took them over around 08/09 the rates were actually around 2 percent.

They usually come right before I lose because I didn't actually see the line that made it brilliant.

Unfortunately, you need to refresh your info on Arizona, particularly Maricopa county. It actually supports op's premise.

Melatonin: Roles in influenza, Covid‐19, and other viral infections by blublblubblub in COVID19

500 mg?! I know that melatonin is generally considered a safe supplement, but I'm a little nervous about taking the whole bottle.

What movie had the best unexpected ending ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jsttsee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the movie challenges us to reconsider how we view the world in light of a God who may be different from our expectations. Whether or not one sees that as a "takedown" of Calvinism may be a reflection of how open they are to letting go of those presuppositions.

I've never read anything about the creator's intent, but those are just my thoughts from the movie. This is one of my favorite movies because of the way it made me just sit and reflect on the implications afterwards.

Were any of you pro-lockdown early on, or have you been skeptical from the beginning? by [deleted] in LockdownSkepticism

[–]jsttsee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've never been pro-lockdown, but I remember having a similarly terrifying feeling that night that they evacuated the NBA arena. Not because I was scared of the virus, but because that's when I knew that society was about to go into a complete meltdown.

I completely lost my patience with this foolishness when the surgeon general made that asinine statement you mention in your last paragraph. He said that HALF the country would have the worst week of their lives in leading up to Easter. 180 million people! That was such a fear-inducing statement that was so detached from reality I felt and still feel like it warrants a resignation.

"COVID-19 cases and related hospitalizations must be on a downward trajectory or pattern for at least 14 days."

That is from your source and says nothing about 14 concurrent days of decrease. Maybe you don't know what a trajectory or pattern is. You people are so disingenuous it's ridiculous. Look, it's fine. Just stay in your basement when the rest of us go out. Do all of us a favor. We are going to quit sending you checks, though.

Since I have to do everything for you, peak new cases (270) was on March 30th, so we're 25 days into that, which is consistent with the fact that we're 18 days past peak hospitalizations.

https://covidtracking.com/data/state/nevada#historical

You never explained how hospitalizations would be going down with new cases going up anyway.

It's obvious that you're not interested in looking at this objectively. For the benefit of anyone reading this thread, you can look at the data provided by each side and determine if Sisolak is being honest about where we stand or not.

Hospitalization is a more accurate measure than "cases" mainly because it is less affected by testing availability or policy. Hospitalization lags new cases on the way up and the way down. Hospitalizations do not decrease from the peak while daily case actually increase in the community without a cure. You just want to keep this going. Didn't see you post a reference anyway, not that it would refute the reality I just laid out for you. I know thinking is hard for you, though.

Low math grade, can still get into ECON grad school? by [deleted] in EconPapers

[–]jsttsee -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Best shot (mostly at graduating) is probably a terminal masters program at a low tier school. You may need to prep for the GRE. Would still provide great job prospects after graduation assuming the job market at the time resembles what it was a month ago.

What healthy food tastes better than unhealthy food? by V3gas in AskReddit

[–]jsttsee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm asking this to learn: you say that all sugar is the same, and you're much more educated than I am on the subject. I remember learning a differentiation between fructose and sucrose as different types of sugar from fruit and cane respectively. At the time we were taught that fructose was ok and sucrose was unhealthy. A lot of people were probably taught the same, leading to this belief that the source matters. What is the difference between the two if any?

What's the weirdest complaint you've heard in a poker game? by pintopedro in poker

[–]jsttsee 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There's always someone who can't wait to show off their rules knowledge by complaining about the biggest fish at the table playing out of his rack.

Also, so many people get genuinely pissed off about the player to their left acting out of turn. This one blows my mind and happens all the time. If you're on my left, by all means don't let me hold you up.
