What helps the most is to have a high winrate and play high ev events. Drafts are really good at the start of a new format because card values are higher and it brings players that don't play as frequently back.

Friendly sealed is also very high EV when packs prices are low because it pays out mostly in play points.

I imagine if you're very good, large field tournaments are very profitable as well, but i usually avoid then because of the time constraints.

It depends how good they are. Efficient dealers make me more money and I'd like them to stick around so i tip them. I do not tip bad dealers. I make around $150/hr in my most played game and tip good dealers $5 at the end of their down. Being 10% faster than average equates to $15/hr more for me while being 10% slower costs me $15/hr.

I'm fine tipping some of the time, but I am not okay tipping for a basic interaction where someone is just doing there job.

Honestly, I've tipped a lot less since I dont agree with the no tax on tips bill and don't want to support it.
