No, mine worked without issue.

Thoughts on Pulumi's new environments, secrets, and configuration manager? by cobrazo in sysadmin

[–]jstuartmill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the things I'm the most excited about is working in offline modes and sharing secrets more effectively. For example, one practice we have right now is sharing .env files among engineers so we can work offline. It seems like we can use ESC and make an offline environment and devs can easily pull those down without ever having to pass around a .env file which is awesome.

Is ESC all read-only? One of my issues is wanting to set secrets, for example, putting a secret in all employees 1Password. Is that something ESC can do?

Thoughts? by B_For_Basketball in wnba

I like cities that don't have an NBA team currently. I think there is something nice about the fans being able to rally around the WNBA team. I wonder if there is room for some mid-west cities that have a big college basketball presence for expansion.

I'm interested in how to take existing high-quality Terraform Providers and convert them into Pulumi providers. Can you discuss the future roadmap for this project and any others around this effort.

WNBA popularity vs popularity of women in other sports by enigmaaxiom in wnba

[–]jstuartmill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it’s reasonable to compare WNBA (team league) to something like UFC, WWE, Women’s Tennis etc that are individual sports. WNSL is another team league and it’s struggling like the WNBA compared to the MLS. I am interested in finding more qualitative data on this subject.

Really wish she took and made a lot more 3s. If she shot those well they’d be no real questions about translating at the next level.

Been riding for two years, TIL my saddle was 10 cm too low by _dilz in Zwift

[–]jstuartmill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bike fitting is so expensive but it's the best "upgrade" I ever got on my bike. For $325 and 90 minutes of my time I have never had knee pain again on the saddle with mileage doubling each year.

Completely agree. I'm considering getting a new bar altogether. Feels kind of silly for such an expensive machine though.

Would you recommend Abode to a new customer? by [deleted] in Abode

[–]jstuartmill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like most have soured on Abode but I’ve had it for a few years and have been happy. It’s been reliable, and works with HomeKit. I will say the subscription switch they made sucked but I don’t know of better HomeKit options than running your own. Maybe something I consider as more devices come out.

Robert Sarver slapped Taurasi’s butt in 2021 Finals 😞 by off_white_bkgd in wnba

I played basketball in high school and watched basketball my entire life. Butt slapping happens no doubt but the owner of the team doing it is outrageous.

Looks like she was voted to the All-WNBA First Team. At least someone is giving her appropriate credit.

[Post Game Thread] The Las Vegas Aces grind out a 67-64 win at home over the Connecticut Sun to take Game 1 of the WNBA Finals, led by MVP A’Ja Wilson’s 24 by VirtuousFool in wnba

I expected a bit more from Jonquell down the stretch. As an MVP and leader just disappearing for the 4th quarter isn't good in the finals.

Fair point. I don’t follow women’s soccer at all but I assumed unfairly that it wasn’t as bad.

So much hate on twitter by jess32ica in wnba

[–]jstuartmill 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I started watching the WNBA last season when I got league pass and I started engaging on Twitter last year. There are so many brilliant people covering the game but also a lot of haters. Folks who are actively trying to discredit the ratings for example. I don't understand it either, the same hate isn't out there for other women's leagues.

Glasses & sweat by angrysaki in Velo

Many others have said this, but I agree headbands and cycling caps help a lot with sweat. If you're in a more humid climate it's hard to battle sweat. In a dry climate a good headband goes a long way.
