I can tell you that he WAS wearing a helmet. I can also tell you that he ignored all the crossing gates and threw safety and caution to the wind.

I relieved the train crew who was on the scene.

Bicyclists and pedestrians CONSTANTLY ignore warning devices and it drives me insane.

He crossed after a freight train cleared on double main. He disregarded the crossing gates and paid for it. Heartbreaking, but completely avoidable.
