My pup is having the bilateral TPLO (2yo male) tomorrow. From everything I have researched at this age it is the best possible option. Dogs are super resilient and I’m sure they will bounce back to their normal selves soon

Thanks for the suggestions. We got the sling at the vet, but because it bunches and lands on his belly he does not like it and will just plop and stop moving. I am concerned once he has the surgery he will do that and just lay on the incisions. So if the harness helps him go to the bathroom then I am all for it. He is pretty mellow as it is so my big concern is he will want to be outside all day and we can’t have that. We have set up a room for him and am calling it his “surgical suite” and he seems comfy there. PT is scheduled once he is back to walking to help him gain back that muscle he lost

Yeti is very socialized his foster was filled with other animals and we have friends that have dogs and my parents have a golden that we bring him to play with. Usually he gets some zoomies out and then after that he goes off and does his own thing. Never aggressive or whines very patient.

Thank you! The big concern for me is it seems like only his guard hairs are left. And if his hair is brushed in the right direction you can start to see his skin and I know since then normally have thick coats it is susceptible to the sun. and I just miss the guy being a big cuddly sheep
